Same "setup" :D

Jan - DK
Excellent ;) I could never get rid of my XJR, everything from the gearbox, engine to throttle feels so much nicer, smooth, refined, quality. The Tenere is opposite, rumbly, vibey, rattly  LOL, with a more uncomfortable seat but it is great fun in its own way and it doesn,t matter if it is used and abused. We hammered around the lanes all morning yesterday and I just wouldn,t be able to keep up with the lads on the Tenere, the XJR's power is a must! The Tenere is a great bike but in a different way. I actually find the XJR more comfortable, I get upper shoulder/back ache on the Tenere which I have never had on any other bike.

The really nice thing is because they are chalk and cheese it's like riding a new bike each time, you appreciate each other's character more.IMG_3218.JPG

Nice SAAB 96! I had one of those with the Ford V4 motor back in the 79’s, great car! There was a pull switch under the dash to engage/disengage the free-wheel facility.

Yes, love the freewheel, I have had countless SAABs, especially 96's, over the last 45 years, my first car of course. This one is a one owner, 70k mile rot free example, full service history etc.... in original Opal Green, it's just in bits at the moment, I,m putting in a new balance shaft, clutch, carb etc. Will get their by October hopefully.IMG_1292.JPG

Think I’m buying the very last Zmodel from Chorley, hopefully collect it next tuesday or wednesday. How much was delivery? Same colourscheme, although I’ve bought a blue baglux tank cover as all my bikes run baglux covers. Hoping it’ll compliment the wheels nicely. I so agree about the base spec, it’s all I want.
Mines on PE70UAJ, but will wear a private plate as soon as the log book arrives. Already got fender extender, givi plate and autocom ptt waiting with the baglux cover and an accessorry plug on its way from Wiz in Leeds. Will probably order up a Givi airflow screen too. Was looking to see if there’s a recommended hugger. Looks like it’s between a Pyramid and Puig or some unbranded one. I’ve a week to get it to first service mileage, then it’s in for that before heading to Scotland for a boys weekend where it’ll gain about 1200 miles.

Thank you for your kind comment about my bike

I had an original World Crosser back in 2013-14.

Unfortunately I was knocked off by a myopic 84 year old who pulled out in front of me. Fortunately I was only bruised and although the bike was soon repaired I used the insurance windfall to by my first electronically suspended model in 2015. I had all my extras (including the World Crosser bits) transferred to the new bike.

This bike was traded for the one above in May of this year and again all my farkles (including the World Crosser bits from the 2015 bike) were transferred to the new bike

You can't buy a new S10 in the UK now as it does not comply with Euro 5 (the main reason why I bought this bike). Mine is a 2019 model, pre registered by the dealer in November 2020

You can tell from my pictures above that I've also fitted a Givi AirFlow

It's not, however, a direct fix as it's made for the earlier Gen 1 bikes

To mount the screen you'll have to remove all the screen adjustment mechanism and put spacers at the bottom of the screen where the mounting bolts go through. I use black plastic number plate nuts for this. You'll also need longer screen mounting bolts.

It's a faff but well worth doing in my opinion

I’ve had an airflow on a Twincam GS a few years back, until I gotknocked off by a total arse. At least the Judge agreed when he failed to turn up at court. Anyway, the drop broke the lower section, I never replaced it as I sold the bike once repaired. The blade and brackets have since been fixed to a cut down screen on my Pan, and its made a huge difference to that. Also tried the same with the FJR I bought earlier this year, but on that it made the wind noise way worse. I’m borrowing my mates ZE tomorrow for a test ride and will see how I get on with the OE screen. Will order up an airflow if its no good.D186B91F-E656-4E44-85E2-40EAF1D5EAFC.jpeg5C5D0CD7-E433-4242-AACD-310C11F85947.jpeg

I always thought that the OE Honda shield was very good. Raise or lower it to where it worked the best. The FJR, and Tenere's are just ok, and the the RT's was trash.

I borrowed a Vstream for the Pan and was given a taller wider screen as well as the cut down one I mounted the blade on. None worked until i fitted the blade. Looks odd but works for me. The FJR is horrendous as std, really tiring to ride, even the wife has noticed how I fall asleep soon after getting home. What I have found is a big difference if i just bend the top of the screen down an inch with my hand. So im looking at making some wedges to raise the lower fixings at some point. Can’t comment on the RT as never ridden one, and I personally think the newer ones look hideous, like an oversized Bison.

Yes, I failed to note the RT was an 1150. I think a person would have to be about 5' 3" for the the shield to be effective.
