Has anybody tried brake snakes (otherwise known as brake/shifter lever savers) on their ST? If so, how did you install them given that there is no frame rails under the engine to attach the inboard end of the snake to.

A small gage cable that attaches from the rear brake pedal or shifter to the frame. Supposed to prevent anything from getting in between the frame and pedal/lever. Not worth the effort unless you do true off road riding IMHO.

I've not used one on my S10 but had them on a 250 and 400, before fitting it i clipped a rock and bent the brake lever up and over the footrest!

Drill a small hole in your Skid Plate and attach the BS to your shifter and rear brake levers. If you don't have a Skid Plate, you won't need a Brake Snake.

Yep, I've had one for years and has saved my brake two or three times. I attached it to my skid plate.

I never heard of it before either ! The little actual 2 wheel off road riding I do doubt I will ever need a brake snake.

First I've heard of it, too. Doubt I'll ever need one, but it would be nice to see a picture, if anyone has one.

Had them on the bikes when racing Hare Scrambles but don't do single track much at all with this 60+ year old man and a 600lb+ Motorcycle. ::005:: The Bike can do so much more than I can or even want to. I have fun doing things on the Tenere that I didn't think I could do and it makes it easy. Ridden with a few on Tenere's that need them. Snakebitten and Tabasco come to mind.

I thought s bar snake went in your handlebars to cut down on vibes.

A bar snake does go in the bars. Looks like Bar Snake is still around. A brake snake is a different animal, it can be a shifter snake too. O:)

I have them on my dirt bikes but tie them around the lower frame tube ahead of a bolt. If tied to my skid plate, makes it hard to remove the skid plate to change the oil.
