I would love to find a tube rack that went in place of the pillion seat and rack. Like the early BMW GS.

Yep it’s Metal Mule and made in the UK. Designed to fit their top cases. All of their stuff is bombproof

Version 1 of my replacement base. Not totally satisfied with it, but it will work for now.
1/4" plate - my welds suck (I haven't welded aluminum in years!) - and change a few other details.

Really nice work. I just wish I could have found a way to use the Altrider that came on my 2013 when I got it last February to mount the oem top box I got. Had to find the little plastic base (Thanks, Cycledelic) for the oem rack. Not nearly as stout as the Altrider which looks brand new, but gathers dust in my spare parts now in case I ever have a future use for it. Wish I'd had the patience and experise some of you guys evidently have to fabricate an adapter to mate the oem case to the Altrider. I did give it a good inspection after reading these comments and, like I said, top and bottom plates both look straight out of the box new. I picked the bike up from a dealer, so I have no idea how long the Altrider was on the bike or how it was used, but there are no marks that look like anything was ever set on it.
