Howdy. I am a recovering KLR rider ;D. Anyhow love my KLRS but lately have gotten the itch to move up to something with a little more zip on the open road. Looked at the F800GS and after much soul searching decided BMW's are just not me. I consoled my self with the dream of a multicylinder KLR. The I heard the Super Ten was on it's way to America. This is it with a Yammy badge. Money down patiently waiting for May to roll around. Totally stoked.

Hey, I know of the KLR Syndrome...I felt the same way: needs another cylinder! And I concur on the BMWs.

Can't wait to see how it turns out....

Hi, in my experience I felt the same way and ended up with the Yamaha.... well... I hope that you will be as impressed as I am. She is big and she is heavy, but NEVER feels that way! On the S10 I always feel in control and love the way that she handles. It helps to know that the bike can handle about any situation you may unexpectedly find your self in, especially on rough and loose dirt roads. ;D

Same here on the BMW's, it's weird but didn't even get as far as a test ride, guess you either like them or you don't.

Will prob take the new Triumph adventure bike when it comes out but only being a 800cc prob won't cut it power wise for me.

Yahmy, totally agree, just finished my run in period and got stuck into it on the weekend in twisty roads in Northern Tasmania. I found it hard to trust the traction control at first as Ive never had it on a bike before but as the trust factor grows you can push this bike and it just keeps giving.
Awesome, cant wait till next weekend.

Hi Caveman and friends... yes trust me if I say that you will probably never switch the traction control off. Afterall this bike is not a 400 - 600cc lightweight scrambler that does not need or want traction control. I love the Yamaha's torque that never seem to stop, but in serious loose gravel and without Tcontrol it can get nasty. I also found the ABS as a great help and never intrusive in the dirt. In the company of many experienced GS riders, I am lucky to say that I did very well on really bad dirt roads last month on the Yamaha. I am not as experienced as they are, I know that, but they dont know it and I think it is all because of my bike handling so nicely. I read many articles about switching TControl and ABS of, however and maybe being inexperienced, I never felt that I had to switch anything off, instead just turn its ears and it storms through anything.
