Due to my advancing years (I am now well into Codger-dom), and primarily due to the fact that my wife has expressed an interest in riding with me, about a week ago I purchased a brand new 2017 Honda Gold Wing. Yep. And a handsome beast he is. And, we have been blessed with some semi-decent riding weather late in the fall, so I've had a chance to enjoy. I have sold my fine 2013 Tenere to a friend and fellow Forum member, so all is well on that front. Nice to keep him in the family. The Tenere has been my only bike since I bought the second one introduced into Canada several years back. I destroyed it, and promptly (after I healed up) purchased the 2013.

Just wanted to bid you all a hearty farewell, and wish you safe riding wherever you go. I'll check in from time to time to make sure you're not getting too rowdy. And any Tenere rider will always be welcome at the RancheRita (aka Chateau Remo) in Whitehorse.

All the best dudes and dudettes. I have enjoyed all of this. Take care, and hope to see you up here at some point.

Sorry to see you go Rem. You'll be missed by all us original forum members that remember the rowdy early days of this forum. :D

GoldWing, 2 up, look into and strongly consider running a car tire on the rear instead of the moto tire. Run Flats are the most common choice. The Wing forums will have lots of Darksiding info. As well as Double Darkside info.

Family first and many long comfortable trips to both of you.

Good luck and have fun on the Goldwing. I still love my 08 Goldwing. Get the car tire like Eric mentioned. A few blowouts reported on goldwings shifted me away from the motorcycle tire on the rear. Too heavy 2 up for the weight rating of the stock tire in my opinion.

Good luck on your new journey. If it were me, as I get older, I'd be going the other way, lighter, more nimble, even an extra wheel.....

Rem, it has always been a pleasure talking with you. Hope you truly enjoy the new ride and your new 2-up status. Be safe out there and thanks for all the fun banter over the years. I've really enjoyed it.
