It's a fancy ruggedized version of the Starbucks bag.

Legally they both fail DOT-approval for a number of reasons.

guess I will just stick with the one gallon Rotopax, I’ve hauled it along on two major trips but never needed it, after I knew it wouldn’t be needed I had a hard time getting the gasoline out, couldn’t get the little yellow cap removed from the spout so it could pour , so had to pour with the screw on cap and the spout removed, spilled a bunch of gasoline, after I got home took another look at it and that little yellow cap practically fell off by itself, but the hole under the cap is very small so I’m sure emptying the RotopaX would be a miserably slow process, they do also sell a better spout for a bunch more money. If you read the reviews there are very many complaints about the stock spout being pretty lousy, I guess it’s a EPA safety requirement.
Someday I’m probably going to try mounting my RotopaX like Givi 550 did behind the right saddlebag that way the extra weight about 10 pounds wouldn’t be so high up.

Nice write up DD. Funny how I associate the Eastern US with 'urban'. Just looked up PA and its bigger than the North Island! I'll say it again, you Americans are blessed with some fantastic landscapes and riding.
