I'm about to start using the S10 for a winter commute.... and I've been discussing over on UKGSer the merits of muffs over heated gloves..... and there's a guy over there using Barkbuster Blizzards on his GSA

Anyone here fitted a pair to their Super Tenere? I'm concerned they won't go over the oem hand guards.....

Thanks in anticipation 8)

I use these <LINK> from Giant Loop. They do an amazing job of keeping the wind off my hands and they do not obscure any controls. I've used full muffs and, in my opinion, they are a safety concern.

That's why I like the idea of 3/4 muffs, and they don't look like spades ::025::

Thanks for the input guys..... from what I have deduced from UKGSer the Barkbusters fit fine on GSA standard hand guards, so I'm guessing they'll fit on the S10.... but still mulling over the suggestion from Dogdaze ::003::

Bryn, you may find this useful, may be a little cheaper than their ebay site and don't have to deal with the automated import charges, which in most cases is not applicable at that value...

Thanks for the link, but I've got a feeling once you factor in delivery charges, and then import duty they are not going to be far away from the price of a set of bark busters..... the ebay link you posted suggested over £50 in total, plus the import duty when they get impounded ( happened to me with an alaska leather butt seat pad) .... don't think I'd bother importing a pair .. I appreciate they would probably quote less directly but it seems like too many variables :-\

Yeah I can understand that ::008:: So much for 'free movement of goods' ::009:: It's a shame you need them now, 'cos I'm getting a pair and having shipped to a US address and having brought over in May........

;D Nice thought, but by May I'm hoping for wall to wall sunshine ::003::

Anyway.... just had another thought.... waxed cotton over mitts ......

Edit: thought I had a pair, no waxed cotton ones ... but I have a pair of Spada waterproof over mitts..... I think I'll try them out as a no outlay possibility and see how I go ::002::

Not sure about the Bark Busters, I'm sure others have used them, but these below will definitely work, I think Silverbullet uses them ..

Yes I cannot recommend the OBR ADV Enduro mitts highly enough for the Tenere or any other bike with handguards installed. Dang near a custom fit, no wonder they show a S10 in their photos. Surely a personal bike of the owner or employee and used in the design of them. Super strong and high quality cordura construction with reflective strips sewn in. Not restrictive at all, I stand very frequently on my bike and doesn't conflict. My last ride this month it dropped into the 30's so I spent the 5 minutes and installed these for the season. Doesn't get any easier than that. They kept my hands warmer and gloves dry but didn't protect my jacket or bike. Lol

Looks like the only thing clean when you got home was the gloves :))

Interesting read. I've been using heated gloves for years. Getting a bit fed up with them breaking though. Have had to replace every year on average. Sometimes its the connecter from sleeve to glove that breaks. Better than heated grips though when they do work

Here's a link to the over mitts Ive got.... I'll give them a go and see how warm my hands are..... I know they are waterproof...as the last time they saw daylight it was through 300 miles of biblical rain in Belgium and Luxembourg ... gloves stayed dry underneath 8) I'm a medium... the over mitts in a medium are fine over winter gloves
