Apologies if this has already come up several times but was just wondering what sort of everage most others are getting. I've not had the bike long and still taking it fairly easy and riding quite smooth and the average MPH has risen as high as 54.8mpg
My daily commute is a mix of town riding (central London) and some fast dual carriages and I'm quite pleased with the figures so far.

My Gen 2 model runs in the high 40s (U.S. Units), mostly high speed (70-80 MPH) with a mix of in-town 80/20% respectively. When riding at higher altitudes or very easy (50-60 MPH) riding I've seen over 50.

Over 10,000mls mine is 54, which is alot of motorway, duel carriageways at 75 to 80 GPS speed and lots of blasting around in 4th gear. I don't continuosly try to get good mpg. My Tiger800 would only average 42 riding the same.

Most of my riding is commuting, with short stints on the highway. The computer shows 40-44mpg. I've seen as high as 53mpg down in Kerrville TX. I was traveling fast through tight corners without having to keep the rpms up. BUT, I've also noticed that the computer is overly optimistic. When I calculate the miles driven and the fuel used, the mileage can vary from .5 - 1.75mpg versus the computer. The more city driving, the more discrepancy. Mr. Bertrand is correct, I've seen 24mpg in my Jeep while in the Arizona high deserts. Normally I do good to get 18mpg. And, doesn't the UK have better gas?

I typically get around/above 50 mpg, but I also shift between 3 and 4 k and ride mostly in T mode (and I am still having loads of fun on the bike)

Interesting, I didn't realise our petrol was of a different quality to the US! I tend to cruise about 80 - 90 on the motorway or dual carriageway but have found that at 90 (or above) the average mpg starts dropping. At low 80's it stays fairly constant but at slower speeds the figure starts to rise again . I could get a much higher figure if I could show better restraint but then where's the fun in that!
If you don't mind me asking, I've been reading loads of threads on here and keep seeing a reference to gen1 and gen2 so I'm guessing there are 2 generations or versions of the bike but I have no idea which I have? It's a 2015 model if that's all you need?

About 56-58mpg riding briskly and 62-64mpg taking it steady. Bike has had the ECU remapped and this has added 10mpg over OEM.

If you have an all LCD dash it's a Gen2. I believe our gas has less Ethenol in it.

just checked the log book (registration) and it was first registered on 4th December 2015.
seem to remember being told the bike had been mapped or chipped or something like that so not sure if this makes a difference to the figures.
62-64 is impressive!! now I have a target lol

Don't know if UK gas is better but their imperial gallon is equal to 1.2 US gallons, so there's a +20% difference baked into the comparison, explaining, in part, their higher average mileage ratings.

Looking at your meter, it's a gen 1. How it was registered as a 2015 I'm not clear.......

Dash and color, a 2013 maybe? I've seen England do some weird chit with their registrations... the bike could have been a left over that was 'first sold' in '15, not necessarily 'registered' as a '15. I barely understand our DMV... :(

My Gen I and I average 42-43 mpg by the math on Kalifornia's gas. On a full day below 60 mph I can see almost 50 mpg. Me and a friend on a second gen did the same loop, he got 37 and I got 44. Kinda shocked me.

by your response, I'm guessing that 2013 is the last year of the Gen1 bikes ?
is it possible that the US had the Gen2 earlier then we did in the UK ?
I know over here a bike can sit in the showroom for months maybe even a year or more
and only when a customer buys it does the dealer get it registered hence the difference maybe?

seems a bit odd that this bike would have sat around for 2 years without being registered though!
or perhaps thats normal? I will have to ask my dealer.

If your bike has a black steel sidestand then it is a Gen 1, Gen 2 bikes have aluminium side stands. But if you search here for Gen 1 vs Gen 2 differences you'll find a whole list.

Well, the 20% difference would explain it. I forgot about the imperial gallon. I thought everything over there was liters. Oh, and the down side of higher mileage at altitude is that power drops drastically. Of course it just the "no oxygen" thing. ::025:: Thank heavens for computer controlled fuel injection.
