Looks like a great functional machine!! I almost got the AT when I was shopping for my bike. It was the 21/18 wheels that I knew would not be as good for touring. The reality is there is no adventure bike on the market (including the ST) that is even close to being as capable as my Beta in the dirt.

Yeah I wouldn't mind trying one. I was pretty close to buying one before I picked up the S10. I liked everything except the cost of a new bike. Really surprised at the fork issues they are having. So glad I am not dealing with that.

Maybe next spring they will have one at the test ride days here in the spring. Not a fan of the DCT, but the standard model would be ok.
My bad leg would love me to have a lighter bike, but I will deal with that when it starts causing more issues in a few years. I agree leg room looks more cramped than a S10, so a taller seat may be needed. I am pretty sure the seat height is adjustable like ours though.

I am not a Honda fan though and would somehow need to convince myself to buy one.

They look fantastic and i would have thought about one. However tubed tires no cruise control and the 21 inch front ruled it out for me. Plug and go tires cant be beat. Cruise is something i use alot and the 19 inch front is great on the road. Plus the undoubted reliability.

I just looked at the photos in the link. At 6'1" the riding position for the legs looks a bit too sporty for me, almost sportsbike. The electrickery looks like fun to play with.

Looks like a cramped riding position for a tall rider.
I had a 16 AT, it's a bit taller than the S10. With the optional high seat, really tall riders (6'5") are fine.

What excites me about this update is the possibility that it'll prompt Yamaha to take the Gen 3 S10 in a similar direction with an IMU, TFT dash, less weight and LED headlights.

Look like Honda have addressed most of the issues riders complained about with the 1000 at last. Still chain drive, but looks to be a good 30 Kg lighter than the S10 as a result, but that 1100 motor simply will not have the punch to compete with the BMW shift-cam 1250. OK, that matters little if riding off-road, but lets face it most Adv bikes are used on pavement only. Certainly worth a look next season.

I also really like the fact it has a separate subframe. That's a game changer!!

It looks like a really great bike with some new improvements that it really needed. Honda is better at marketing at least at the local dealer level.

I hope the local dealer orders a whole bunch and will have leftovers for guys like me. I’ll let you guys with money to burn test out the latest greatest. Meanwhile gonna put some miles on my bike today.
