What come standard is kinda not comfortable for passenger,
what is it, cost cutting or what? this is touring bike after all.

On the Gen 2 bikes (2014 and later), they are standard on the ZE, but optional on the Z models.

It is strange. In the US both models come standard with pillion handles and center stand. A fair number of riders remove them that ride solo and run larger rear racks. You might check the for sale section here, or post a wanted ad and see if you get lucky. Otherwise it's off to the breaker or ebay.

I was amazed that in the UK the Z doesn't come with them as standard, I paid for them along with a centre stand and then added Oxford Heated grips, the ZE has OEM heated grips, pillion handles, centre stand, top box rack and a panel for the right rear subframe. If I'd bought all of the extras it makes the Z more expensive than the ZE.

well, the most expensive part of ZE is electronic suspension, which I don't want or need.

is it really true??? damn, not good.... I may consider choosing ZE version after all :(
Just get a rear seat from an older bike, as this change for the Gen2 non-ZE is the only pillion seating change.
