Anyone used a Battlax Adventure A41 tire yet?

You probably know this by now, but none of your images posted. I used to get those same results if I tried to use Google Photos as a third party host. Try Imgur instead.

Weird. They show up on my computer just fine. Not appearing in Tapatalk on my phone or tablet though. Too bad. They're great pictures. 2019 Super Tenere calendar quality ;). Maybe I'll add them as attachments or something later.

Tried a new way of getting the link and the first three pictures are now appearing in Tapatalk on phone/tablet. Let me know if you can see the first three and if so, I'll update the rest. Thanks!

Whatever change you've made, the first three now show. It'd be great if you could cut the file sizes in about half so folks don't need to scroll around a photo to see the whole thing.

Ok, that was more effort than should be necessary, but done. ::008:: Good thing I'm a nerd. If anyone is interested in exactly how to link to Google Photos hosted images, let me know. I reduced the dimensions a bit too so they should fit most screens without scrolling.

Well, hell. The image links seem to work and break at random, like Google generates a random link each time you reference the image. The more time that passes, more and more image links break. Seems the links expire after some amount of time. I've tried on two different PCs, tablet, phone, Chrome, Edge, logged in, not logged in, clearing the cache.... guess I'm not enough of a nerd after all. Google can suck it.

Maybe I'll try something different later. Sorry... They really are good pictures.

RCinNC, if you want to see more to help in your decision process, PM me and I'll see if I can share them another way.

I can see the first 8 photos now.

I ultimately ended up buying some Mitas E07 tires and putting them on. I'm pretty happy with them so far. I'm heading to Colorado on June 13th on them, so I'll get a chance to see how they do over long distances.

For anyone interested in the tires (and pictures from my trip), I fixed all the image links in the picture post. You're right RC, Imgur seems much better for simple hosting for forum posts. ::008::

Thread resurrection... the A41’s have been around for a while but I’m just getting around to trying them out. Wow! the bead is stiff and wasn’t easy to install.

So far, Mikey likey... smooth, quiet and stable. I’m headed to the mountains for 4 days of Appalachian twisties, should be a good test for these tires.

4K mile update and it's been a nice change from the knobby types I usually run. Front tire...IMG_1342.JPG
and rear...IMG_1341.JPG
Pressures kept at 33/36 and there is some squaring off out back but still plenty of tread life left. Front looks great with no perceptible cupping noted. Two trips to the mountains and lots of flat land in between. I've been very happy with their performance on road and pleasantly surprised when off pavement. The $50 rebate was icing on the cake! Not looking forward to removing them as they were a struggle to mount due to a stiff sidewall. I'm hoping to get 2-3000 more miles out of the rear before having to swap rubber.

I just finished an 11-day, 4000 mile tour on the Battlax A41s. I like these tires. They provide an excellent ride, great grip, and are confidence inspiring in nearly all conditions. I stayed off the slab as much as possible and rode on just about every kind of pavement, wet and dry, packed dirt, loose gravel, rocky trails, grass. and even deep sand. From whipping it up like a sport bike on Push Mtn Rd, Hwy 16, and the Pig Trail in the Ozarks in Arkansas to Colorado's Million Dollar Hwy, and the Devil's Hwy in Arizona, to forest roads, to White Sands New Mexico, the only surface that was pucker inducing was in deepish sand (6+ inches) on a Jeep trail in Utah near the 4 Corners area. In fact, I dumped the bike twice, 15 min apart, in that sand, but I'm sure major contributors were the 100lbs of luggage on the back and my inexperience and lack of skill in the sand. I didn't ride in any mud or water crossings so I can't comment how they'd perform there. I did ride in heavy rain and on wet pavement and didn't notice any lack of grip even riding aggressively. Because Western Oklahoma, the Texas Panhandle, and much of eastern New Mexico is flat and straight (maybe 1500 out of the 4000 miles), I am starting to notice some minor squaring off of the rear and a bit of trapezoidal shape developing on the profile of the front tire. And while I didn't measure the tread depth when new, I estimate there is well more than 50%-60% tread depth remaining, maybe a bit more.

The other thing I'll mention is the sidewalls of the rear tire are quite stiff, making them difficult to mount, even using my powered tire machine (and after warming up in the sun and using plenty of lube), but if you're not mounting these yourself, it's not really much to worry about. If you have to do it roadside by yourself, you'd probably choose prostate surgery without anesthesia first.

Overall, I think these are great tires and I would buy them again. But for the really off-road stuff and deep sand, I'll probably stay with my TKC80's.

Some pics of the various surfaces I rode with these tires:

The Super Tenere is out standing in its field ::) ...

Whooping it up with my buddy on his Hayabusa in the Ozarks...

Stopping to don the rain gear...

This is the only kind of stuff I would not ride on again with these tires and without more practice in the sand...
Wow man! WOW! :D Excellent pictures! I know your review post is old but thanks for sharing! I'm considering these tires over a fourth set of Battle Wings. Your testimony will definitely help with the decision making process. Hope all is well and thanks again.

I should have taken pictures of mine. I switched mine out at about 6k miles. My rear tire had just a little more squaring off than BaldKnob's and could have gone much further, but my front tire was toast. I've never had a front tire wear out before a back tire. From chicken strip to chicken strip the front was almost bald. The guys at the shop said they'd never seen the difference in wear like this either. But, it may not be entirely the tires fault. Between the bike and I, we weigh in North of 900lbs. And I do rider her like a sport bike, and use heavy front brakes. Because, look at texascanuck's. Totally different riding surface, and style . . . . and his tire look like new.

Other than the unusual wear, I like the tires. Good grip, and ride but maybe a little stiff carcuss wise.

I have a 2020 S10 ES and starting to think about my next tire. I have the OEM Battlewing and about 12K. But there is still some life left in them.

Are the A41's a better tire?

I've used them, and they were ok, but my front wore out 2:1 to the rear. And I remember someone else having the same results. A tire thread is almost as bad as an oil thread. Your tire choice will depend HUGELY on what/where your riding will be. I have gone full pavement tires and am using sport touring tires. If you're going to be heavy into off road, none of my information will be valid for you.

In my opinion, a resounding yes! They are better than the OEM Battlewing tires. Especially if you're truly riding 90/10. I'm glad I followed texascanuck's lead and got them ;) I was extremely impressed with them, and I look forward to getting another set. They're quiet and offer excellent grip with minimal warm up time. They work fine in the rain, but I can't comment on their 10% off road capability. They never saw any off-road action (light off road is as far as I go; dirt roads to a campsite and the like). Fwiw, my riding style is very spirited, and I tour, do weekend back road runs as well as urban riding (downtown San Antonio, Austin, etc.). My ES suspension settings pretty much stay at Hard +3 for the front, and Passenger + Luggage for the rear. My tire pressures are always 33 front and 42 rear (per OEM spec). Here are some pictures with notes. Hope it's helpful and wishing you the best whatever you decide.

Definitely a stiff wall! I feel that helps with their sure footedness though.

They were put to the test in all the lovely twisties out in west Texas (Big Bend, Ft Davis area) ;)
