I just noticed I lost my fender extender. I don't even know when it happened, but looking back at pictures it must have been some rough riding on Mt. Lemmon control road and Redington Rd. I know I've passed a few stones between the tire and fender, usually making a racket.

Given my current skid plate setup, I guess I will leave it off.

The extender was only glued?….did you put the plastic rivets on the sides too?

I used some super adhesive that I got from work. It held so well that when the extender grabbed my skid plate and broke my fender.
Actually, what happens, and may have in this case also, is under full fork compression, the fenda extends gets PRESSED against the skin plate, witch in turn pushes the bottom edge of the extenda into the tire which grabs it and then all hell breaks loose. :)

Tire picked up road trash that went between the Fender Extender and the tire, causing the extender to catch the skid plate. It locked up the steering instantly and I will NEVER have another of the damned things.

Because of the forks flexing/compression/skidplate, my extender broke too, which also cracked the fender. I was off roading, going thru a rock garden and was able to go back and pick up the pieces. I wound up cutting the extender down by about 3-4 inches rounding off the edges and epoxied the fender back together using a drywall wire mesh base under the epoxy. the repair is still in place after 8 years and lots of miles.

That is super sketchy to say the least! Theyd sell a whole hell of alot less of those if these pictures were floating around. That is seriously dangerous.
