I was wondering if there are any female members that ride the S10.
I'm on this forum a while now and believe i haven't spoken with a female member yet.
So i am asking are there any female members, or is it male only here ;) .

I'll start: My wife does occasionally ride my bike but no more than a couple of time's a year, she thinks it's too heavy for her. And she aint a member.

My wife’s not a member, has had her own bike but prefers to ride two up. She says she gets to see more scenery. She won’t even attempt riding the Tenere.

When people ask I now say my Mrs owns a bike as opposed to riding one these days, she would never attempt to ride the S10. A female mate used to have one but now rides a 1250GSA.

That’s exactly what my wife said. She had 2 Honda’s but prefers sitting back and enjoying the scenery. I like it as well, talking a bit while cruising around (without com’s). Remarkable low wind noise while riding btw.

women are weary of a male club , some of us don't know how to act proper . they are conditioned that way and it's our fault. men being men .

I’m not really sure how to take what you’ve said. I’ve never seen nor believe that the male club exists in general biking. This forum for example is a motorcycle forum, it’s mainly about one or two makes of bikes. There’s no male section within it. We’re all individual and act different, not all people accept and understand each other’s personalities. Within reasonable boundaries we all act respectfully, male and female members surely accept that or not, join or not.

Years ago in the UK, in I believe Bike magazine, there was a letter from a female reader asking why they have no articles about females. The mag response was short but IMO spot on, we are a motorcycle magazine, we have articles about motorcycles.

In our group of bikers, one is a female rider and has ridden as part of the group for about 30 years, currently rides a CB1000R. There are also a couple of female pillion members. We all have equal footing in the group, no hierarchy. We’re all simply a group of bikers, male and female is irrelevant.

I think you just proved his point. One woman here, one woman there. This forum may not be the "club" he mentioned, but that's just semantics. We're a bunch of guys talking (bragging) about our motorcycle exploits, and taking this apart, and that apart, which oil is the best, etc, etc. I'm thinking there just isn't a lot of women that get into that. Using Johnwesley as an example again, his wife has a T-12, so obviously she's into riding bikes, "our bike", but not into discussing bikes. :) Just an observation.

My wife rode on two wheels for years, her last bike was a GS and three years ago gave it up as she was becoming too nervous and lost some confidence out there.
It seems drivers are becoming more intolerant and inpatient making riding unenjoyable for her.
Well last June we walked into a Can-Am dealer and that afternoon she rode home a three wheel Ryker. She said it has been a long time since she has enjoyed riding, she's loving it and no more two up for me. Win win for both of us.

Not really......if women are not joining any group because the topics and interests are not their thing, that’s different to them being wary because it’s mostly male members or because men are not behaving properly, whatever properly is.

if I was to join a parent and toddler group with one of my grandchildren, I wouldn’t have any expectation for them to change to accommodate my way of thinking. I either accept how it is and go, or don’t go.

There’s a huge cross section of people on here, from confident through to timid, cocky through to very calm, very bike knowledgeable through to very little bike knowledge, preaching through to listeners. We all take what we want and leave or move past what we don’t want. Women are big enough, tough enough and capable enough to do the same, they don’t need us to wrap them in cotton wool and treat them like fragile children.

There's a new-ish member, Johnwesley, who mentioned that his wife has a Tenere also. The avatar shows the two of them, so I don't think she has her own/individual membership.
my wife rides her own, she has a 2014 standard model. She got hers before I got mine. It’s really her fault I have one. She was looking for a bike and a buddy of mine was talking about selling his and getting a new one. she road her RT out to New Mexico with me in July and he trailered two bikes up so she could have a chance to ride it. Well she was on it for three days riding northern New Mexico and fell in love with it. She felt like she was a better rider on it. I ended up on one just a few weeks ago. I was looking at the T7 and she talked me into the larger bike for cruise and shaft. We do some cross country touring together and this will make us more compatible with gas stops and the like. Her first big trip on it was out to Ohio and had no pain or sore spots. Once again she came back raving about it. So for Christmas I’m setting it up for her to fix the little things she doesn’t like. For example the night vision Any way here she is heading out for Ohio.

she’s not on the forum, she doesn’t get into things like that. She figures if she needs to know something I’ll tell her. She looks at screens all day at work and if she is going to chill out it will be with a book.

edit: I will add this, she doesn’t really talk bikes, though she can get into details about them. I may have burnt her out of all that talk stuff when we first got married, over 20 years ago. She’s hung in there and doesn’t really care about the nit picky stuff she knows I’ll take care of her bike and keep it in good shap. That my job, clean, maintain, and fix. of course that’s my passion So that what’s I do anyway. I’m so happy that she rides with me that what ever she wants or likes o the bike I do, no questions. She knows that and want even mention something unless she wants it cause I will buy it. She was always into bikes for me that was a requirement to date. I knew too many people who had trouble cause their new wife acted like she liked bikes but then decided to not ride and it caused issues. When I met her she was 18 and riding a 750 nighthawk. Shortly after we got married she got a katana and for the next several years we crisscrossed the country on super sport. Eventually her on a zx6r and I was on a 9r. She got into dual sports and I bought her a dr650. Shortly after that she ended up pregnant and once the kids got old she begin to loose her “edge” which motorcycling and had a cruiser cause it was deemed safe for the kids to ride on the back. We went through that for about 10 years and she is now back on what she loved so much about riding. Those big baggers almost got her out of riding altogethe. Getting back to the Tenere reminded her why she loved riding so much. It reminds her of the sport bikes we use to ride. I’m hoping to get her in an ADV riding school this spring. We use to do track schools when we were riding sport bikes. I know if she takes the adv riding school she will have the confidence to ride off pavement and enjoy it. It’s been along time since we took an off road school.

here’s the last riding school we took
