Any experience with these lights?

Saw these at Costco.com. I kind of like the DRL ring light and spot/driving light features. Wonder if they'd fit the PIAA mounts?

Update: shopping around at other sites, this seems to be a pretty good deal - pulled the trigger.

Cant help you with your original question..

But.... I smashed one of my Piaa lamps... (Lump of brake pad flew up of a vehicle in front) I replaced them with these...

https://www.amazon.co.uk/lights-mounting-die-cast-aluminum-housing/dp/B00AHVRMOO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1455213716&sr=8-1&keywords=Sirius+lamps+ns15

Sirius make the lamps for the Tiger 800's and Explorers under the Triumph brand.. Original triumph ones are a stupid price !!

With a little bending they fit the original Piaa mounts...(Thats what I now have on my S10)

Thanks Greg, those look nice but I wonder about shipping from the UK? Also I prefer LED lights for their efficiency.

VisionX is sopose to be premium .... mine let in water , not GOOD at all ... ( same answer as on Facebook )
Saw you're post on Facebook, thanks. When I bought these lights from Costco, their ad said "Great Whites by Vision X". There's no mention of Vision X in any of the included literature or on their website (greatwhites.com.au) so now I'm not so sure they are made by Vision X. These particular lights are rated to 3 meters submersion (IP69K), including the connectors, according to the enclosed literature and the product website:

Were the lights you had rated for 3 M submersion?

On another note, the lights arrived last night and were easily mounted to the PIAA brackets. I did have to open up the holes for the mounting screws a little. I've posted a couple of photos here: http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=1851.10590 Post 10597, page 707

These appear to be the same lights that Twisted throttle and Revzilla sell as Denali's. Also Cyclops has their own version. At least the housing and bracket is the exact same, The Halo function is new or unique to these I believe. Unless it's been added to the others since I bought mine. A lot less expensive though. Especially from TT.

Looks like they should do the job. I like the setup for daytime running light and spot beam feature. And much more reasonably priced than others. Just be sure to check for adequate fender to light clearance.
I have been running the Denali D2s mounted on my engine guards since I got my bike but it hasnt been without issues. I've had one light and one controller replaced since new.

I added these last year (mounts from ADVMonster added to crashbars). IP68 - waterproof to 1.5 meters for 30 min. I got them both with 30 deg beam. I debated using a 10 deg on the left and 30 deg on the right but I like the spread of these. I keep them angled down slightly and haven't been blinding anyone. No more problems with light cutoff when heeled over in corners. I wired them up to the Yamaha aux connector, with an on/off switch on my bars.

You're right I think but much less expensive from Costco especially considering the additional halo feature, for what it's worth. What's interesting is the accessories available that would probably fit my lights.

Well, I can add good customer service/responsiveness with this company. The instructions that came with my lights indicated I should go to their website for the halo-specific wiring diagram. Trouble is there were no diagrams to be found there. I emailed the company in Australia and they seemed a bit embarrassed and immediately emailed back to me the wiring diagram. I think I could figure it out but I like to have the official instructions in hand just in case there's something different than I think.

Nice to hear about good customer service these days...it seems to be turning into a rare thing.

That said, get those puppies wired up and show us what it looks like!

Yeah, I know. Between work and family issues, including a medical emergency with my mother, I've not even touched the bike since mounting the lamps! Still working out the wiring scheme in my head as well. I need to acquire a couple of SPST waterproof switches too. The switch in the kit looks like it's intended for a car interior.

Looks pretty good. Might get some if I but a Tenere. Now you just need Cyclops LED headlight bulb replacements as well as colored LED running lights and you'll be all LED'ed out.

Yeah, I see myself adding those at some point as well.

OK, got them wired up. Crappy phone pictures, but photo 1 is the halos alone and photo 2 is halos and main beam. I have the halos wired for all the time and the mains are tied to the high beam.
Very nice thread and photos!

I'm debating whether to go your route, or the PIAA LP530 kit 77302.

Question. Has your opinion changed after having used these for months? If you could go back in time, would you have bought them again?

I am quite pleased with them and would definitely do it all over again. I've since changed the wiring so that the halos turn off when the main beams come on. The kit comes with a couple of changeover relays so the normally closed leg powers the halos and the normally open leg powers the main beams. The relay sockets in the kit weren't wired to the normally closed leg so I had to add a connector and an extra wire there. This set-up lets me pull all the power from the same point for both beams, simplifying the wiring. Since I'm using a Neutrino Black Box (NBB) power distribution module I can see the current the main beam lamps are drawing in real time on my iPhone - only about 1.6A for a blazing amount of light!

I really like the unique appearance the halo running lights provide too and I think it helps a little with daytime visibility. Using the PIAA brackets they are just at 7.5" from the top of the fender so as long as that really is the maximum suspension travel, and there's no additional compliance in the system, clearance should be ok. I pulled a couple of minor wheelies to test clearance and so far no contact, but I haven't experienced a front suspension bottoming event yet, even off-road, but I'm pretty conservative in the dirt with this big girl.

In the 4+ months since getting them installed and wired there has not been any reliability problems and I've ridden in rain, heavy fog (I live on the coast) and mildly warm weather (80+F). I ride the bike to work 3-4 days a week on my 92 mile round trip commute so they are getting some real use. One fun bit is that the NBB allows programming a delayed off function. I have the halos set to stay on for about 30 seconds after shutting down which is just enough time to dig out my keys and find the lock hole on my back door before they shut off.
