Greetings all. Picked up my S10 about 3 weeks ago. Found a new 2013 and kinda like the white yamaha "retro" look.
Now that the kids are grown figured I'd get back to riding. Past bikes were 900 Kawasaki (before the kids), a few others and last bike was a Yamaha XT 350.
Grew fond of the dual purpose so I wouldn't have to trailer the bike just to go for a ride.
Must admit, the Yamaha S10 is fantastic. Only have 300 miles on it but it handles the street like a dream. Haven't had it on the dirt much cause better get some crash bars first.
Used to ride the canyons in So. Cal but with all the street racers (bikes and cars) it just wasn't enjoyable. I'm too old to race them or maybe got wiser in my old age.
I'm in Frazier Park, Ca. some of the best riding is around here. I can ride the canyons from here to the ocean. Or hit some of the fire roads and go forever. If I get crazy Hungry Valley is 10 miles away. I am jealous of some of the rides you guys take by lakes and streams though. Not much water here.
This is my first forum. Some great people here. You all seem helpful and honest about your opinions of equipment.
Will be looking for lots of equipment. Been reading too much about cases and crash bars. So many options and so little money. So if anyone changed parts and have the old stuff lying around, let me know.
Stay safe and if I don't wave back as you go buy I'm still getting used to the bike and hanging on with both hands!
