Hi everyone,

there must be something in the air as I am also daring the switch from a V-Strom (the 1000 in my case) to the Super Tenere. I have been looking at the Yamaha for a while and finally pulled the trigger on a barely used 2017 ES. In blue - I guess that is not only the prettiest but also the fastest color.
Anyway, here I am, lurking around and coming up with ideas of really making it my bike. I might not ask if the oil should be stirred clockwise or counter-clockwise before I refill it (which one is it btw and do Yamahas even need their oil refilled?) but I might lean on you and the vast knowledge I am already observing here.

So long from the Atlanta area,
Martin

Welcome to the land of Tenere....where you let the bike stir the oil....'cuz SHE always knows the right way. We have the same/identical bike, and you're right....the Cobalt Blue, in the sunshine....nothing prettier. I gonna cry when go down hard enough to ruin it. And, you're also right about personalizing to YOUR taste.

Congratulations! I also arrived from planet VStrom. 2 Wee’s and 1 Vee to be exact. The S10 is an upgrade in all ways IMO. Especially with a reflash :)

Another former V-Stromer(s) here, I put 240,000 something miles on my four stroms and never had a (serious) complaint, so far only 27K on the S-10 with the same result in the complaint dept. Either bike is a winner!
