Meh, seemed biased towards the BMW.

They didn't like the Super Tenere cause it had no soul? That's fine by me, I don't want to ride a possessed bike. >:D

Reviews always have to be taken at face value. The only true judge is you. Back in 2004 I bought a car that was almost universally ripped by the reviewers for one reason or another - the Pontiac GTO. Originally, I recall never giving the car a second thought until I finally saw one in person. The fit and finish was phenomenal, and I figured I'd give one a try. I ended up buying it and it's been absolutely brilliant. If I'd of listened to the reviewers I'd of never even taken it for a ride. Actually the reviewers helped me out, because they drove the price down. ;D

You have to test ride, it's the only way to truly know. I have a feeling once the Tenere hits the streets here in the US it's going to be a huge hit. I'm still amazed how many folks are here on this forum when you consider the general population hasn't even been introduced yet.

Lets face it the GS is dominant in the ADV population. It has been around for 30 years, sells well and is in the garage of many of these journalists. The best way to react to these articles is to smile and pull over to see if BMW roadside assist is on the way for those with CANBUS(t), or final drive troubles. I hope the Tenere is persistent in the US so we can demonstrate the bike's capability, utility, and reliability to the nay sayers.

The GS may have the edge as far as being around for the past 30 years, but they have undergone some significant technological design changes recently that they can't seem to get right. They'll be upgrading the boxer to a liquid cooled version to meet future emissions, so I'm sure they'll have their hands full with that. I wonder where they'll put the radiator?

I have been extremely impressed by the Tenere so far and the vast dealer network will be a huge benefit to us even if an odd issue arises.

I have no concerns with my purchase. Everyone has an opinion, I choose to ignore them. ;D

10-4 to that. The bike has been out a year, the Australians love it, a three year warranty is sweet, extensive dealer network worldwide, and Yamaha doesn't exactly have a reputation for producing crap. It's gonna be awesome, Dude .... as the young folks say. R

Agree, and wish it was offered free here, as it was in Canada.

I found that very appealing. It's one of those things that you hate to put the money out on, but sure glad it's there if you need it. If anything is gonna go wrong, it likely will within three years. Of course, for us northern folk, that's only about 1.5 years of riding, but still ....... it's three times what I would normally have. I will gladly accept it. R

I think it is dominant since it has been virtually the only game in town for so many of those years. I've had two GS bikes and while both were okay, neither was anything special, IMHO. I was far happier with my V-Stroms later than I ever was with either of the GS's.

Great report, right up to the part where you said, you would pay twice as much. Dang man, someone of importance may be listening. :)
It was nice that you were able to compare the 3 bikes.

I've seen a somewhat similar review to the Fastbikes one from MCN UK last year. I don't take these Brit road-ride/pub crawl reviews very seriously at all. Bunch of jokers.

One thing technically innacurate about the Fastbikes review on pg7 is the reference to Tenere front suspension being non-adjustable fork. Utter rubbish. Of-course we know that it is fully adjustable. What does this tell you about the quality and seriousness of this review?

Don't let this British nonsense get to you (I am British BTW, so OK for me to say this ;))

P.S. I was out for my first couple of spring rides this weekend. Sweet, sweet bike!
