AN OLD CANADIAN CODGER BIKER’S CHRISTMAS WISH
(I’m not a baritone …. I’m a tenor .. eh?)

Well, once again it's Christmas
Another year has hurried by
I'm for sure a little older
But I'm not a wiser guy

I now put hand to keyboard
To cyber-speak to you
A digital commemorance
To the Tenerator crew

I didn't ride too much last year
It's just so damn unfair
I have to start from someplace else
To get most anywhere

But next year will be different
I'm gonna kick some pavement butt
Spin some goop and gravel out
From a muddy Michelin rut

I don't seem to get much younger
When I wake up every day
In fact, I'm almost positive
I'm going the other way

But you know, there are some benefits
As I incur old codger status
I no longer am concerned much
With my anatomical apparatus

Some parts of me are larger
While some other parts have shrunk
I now believe my "hood" is somewhat
Smaller than my "trunk"

I do not move as quickly
As I did some time ago
But I now enjoy just getting to
Wherever I might go

I take the time to plan ahead
My impulsive mode has waned
And my fancy schmancy lightweight gear
Offsets the weight I've gained

I do not feel the need to boast
Or show off fancy riding
I'm glad to spend my codger years
Just peacefully abiding

Now, most of you are getting on
If not codgers, well ... almost
It's not a shame to decelerate
Or sometimes even coast

As Christmas is approaching
Don't be a rowdy dude
Lay back and take 'er easy
Just no point in being rude

Just remember, when you're cruising
No one is going to scoff
The sweet thangs will all stare at you
(‘Til you take your helmet off)

So go easy and be grateful
Listen up, and don't forget it
Us old guys have what young bucks don't
That being … well-established credit

Christmas is a time for joy
For friends, and reminiscing
Don't worry about what might have been
Or what you might be missing

So don't be stressed or grumpy
If you get a wooden nickel
Just be real glad for the time you've had
Riding on your motorsickle

It's Christmas, and I raise a glass
To friends, both guys and gals
But I'd like to make a special toast
To my Tenerator Pals

I wish you all the very best
May angels ride beside you
May a loving spirit fill you up
And always live inside you

I bid you travel far and wide
Wherever you may roam
Almost every ride is good
If it sees you safely home

Bikes may come, and bikes may go
New toys will lose their sparkle
But your very favorite biker buds
Will outlast any farkle

May the Yuletide joy envelope you
May the warmth of it surround you
May the Christmas spirit track you down
And wrap itself around you

To Venture, Camshaft, Plemel and Troll
To DougC, ‘Geek and Bernie
To every single one of you ……
Have a safe and pleasant journey

Don't forget that Chateau Rem-O will always be open to you Tenere travellers. I hope to meet each and every one of you somewhere along the road. Let's please be careful out there …… there's no need to rush things along.

Fins to the Bone !!

Merry Christmas !!

Rem (aka Old Canadian Codger Biker Dog)
