Amber lens upgrade?

I have recently noticed more bikes with amber or phosphorous-yellow almost hi-viz lenses, and they really pop out.
I was thinking of upgrading one set of my aux lights with amber lenses and am wondering if you can just buy some tinted foil to put on the existing lenses.
Has anybody done this?

Yes, I've bought yellow tint on Amazon. Needed three layers of it. Really makes a difference in visibility.

Check y'alls local/state laws as to whether it's legal or not before you do it. It may vary.

I have Rigid lights. They have amber covers that snap on.

Amber/yellow front aux are fine, if adjusted and not blinding: almost all vehicles have them from factory. Red/blue (and green in one state) will definitely be a problem.
That is, if it is not blinking/strobe.

Depending on what you want to put it on, LaminX is an option.

I have seen those for little money on Amazon and I just wonder do they just look yellow when off, or make really yellow light. They are dirt cheap.

I have had a Laminx yellow cover on on headlight since I brought my Super T home in Nov. 2015. It definitely gets the attention of other drivers. My wife bought me the Denali lights for Christmas and I swapped one lens for the Amber that they sell.

So I purchased a small piece of yellow LaminX film on Amazon for $7 and put 2 layers on my Aux lights and the color is perfect - just what those Beemer riders probably pay hundreds of bucks for.

FYI - this is what 2 layers of LaminX film look like. Pretty hi-viz.

Clearwater makes clear and yellow lens covers for their lights. They are fitted into a soft rubber boot that slips over the round lights, come on and off in seconds.
