Does anyone have experience with either of these racks? Im looking to use the SWMotech Trax Adventure hard cases, but I like Altrider products. Has anyone ever used the Altrider rack with SWMotech cases? The Altrider rack is on sale on Revzilla, but SWMotech makes more sense for SWMotech bags.

One of my big considerations is Altrider has an luggare rack system that replaces the pillion and factory rack, vs SWMotech that only has the rack replacement.

The pillion rack/tail rack have no impact on the luggage system mounting points, blend away. BTW, I like Touratech's pillion rack better than Altrider's.

Oh great! I heard worse things about SWMotech than Altrider, but I'll check out Touratech now too.

Im trying to do the same thing. Altrider luggage rack system with SWMotech Trax ADV top/side cases.

Im having trouble finding the correct adapter for TraxADV cases on the Altrider rack. Any anyone help me out? Otherwise Ill just call Twisted Throttle or someone and see what they say.

I have both. I run the altrider rear rack with the swmotech trax adventure top case and side panniers. What exactly do you need to know?

...and one more thing, along with adding the altrider rear rack, you still need the SW Motech rear rack adapter plate to be compatible with the bottom of the SW Motech rear luggage.

Sorry if I wasn't more clear, that that's exactly what I was wondering. I need an adapter plate from SW Motech to use on the AltRider Luggage Rack to mount an SW Motech TraxADV Top Case. I'll check their site again. It's different than a Givi Monokey mount right?

I'm not familiar with the Givi monokey mount. The part I ordered is called the Quick-Lock Adapter Plate (Trax Topcase).

Again, I mounted this onto my Altrider rear rack that I installed (removed the Yamaha stock rack).

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

That's exactly what I was looking for!

So you used that adapter you linked, with an Altrider Luggage Rack and SWMotech Trax (ADV?) top case?

THANK YOU! ::015::

I used the one that's in my second link. The top link from Revzilla may be an updated version, but in the pic, there seems to be a vertical edge near the back. If you look at the two different links, mine is like the one in the second one...without that vertical lip.

And yes, I bought the Altrider bracket and this particular SW Motech adapter plate. I removed the stock Yamaha rear plate, installed the Altrider and then put the SWM bracket on top. I then have my Trax Adventure box on that.
