"but that it’s easy to unbolt the panel and gain access to the tank bolt covers. Dealing with your air filter should NOT be an issue."

so the way I read it, you'd leave the unbolted panel within the crash bars but you could still do service work?

Jeremy, ok now we're talking. Suppose we pre-order, what kind of time frame are we speaking about till delivery? Do we get charged before they get delivered?

So, we have word about the crash bars and the left side panel. ;D

When we saw Steve from AdventureMoto (our distributor in Australia) at the Dealer Expo last month, we sent him home with a set of crash bars to try out. He just got back to us and let us know that the left side panel cannot be removed while the bars are still installed -- but that it’s easy to unbolt the panel and gain access to the tank bolt covers. Dealing with your air filter should NOT be an issue.

He also mentioned we’d succeeded in providing some good protection and minimal overall width (good news, since he’ll be taking the bike on the Tenere Tragics ride!). We’re excited to finally make these bars available now that we’ve confirmed the left panel is not a problem.

Those of you who were waiting to pre-order until you got an answer -- you can still reserve a set from our first production run.
That's what I was looking for Jeremy! Relatively easy access to the air filter and throttle bodies. As long as that left cover can be pulled out of the way to gain access to the tank bolts without removing the crash bar (that's all I cared about), I'm good to go with the ALT Rider set up.

I'll be placing an order for your crash bars (s.s. finish), along with your skid plate next week.

Thank you for working hard for us "bikeless" S10 future owners.

Way too many https in those links, Jeremy, so none of them work. ;)

Here they all are fixed, for everyone's clicking pleasure:
AdventureMoto
... Tenere Tragics ride
...you can still order crash bars reserve a set from our first production run.

I went back and changed the links in your original post, as well, so they would work. My first ever Moderator update! 8)

@motocephalic: your credit card would be authorized when you place the order, but funds would not actually be taken until we ship it. The ship date for the crash bars got pushed back a bit so we could get them verified, but we're now looking at March 25 for the silver bars and April 1 for the black powder coated bars.

@Jakeboy: no problem, glad we'll be able to help you out. You guys have been great about giving us feedback, and the products are better for it.

@Chadx: looks like I fat fingered that one... too excited to share the news. Thanks for fixing it for me.

Jeremy, if I order the crash bars and skid plate in June/July how long would it take to get them? Just found out I wont see my bike till August. So no sence in ordering them to just sit around.

I had a similar questions since I don't expect my bike until July or later, but I don't want to be left between runs on the crashbars or skidplates. I was thinking the first few runs would sell out quick, but maybe by then, there will have been enough runs that the warehouse shelves have them in stock and it would just be a matter of shipping. I don't mind ordering or buying early, though, to avoid having to wait later. I won't be hitting the hardcore trails until after I get the bike broken in a bit, but I could do that in as little as 2 to 4 weeks if I play my cards right. Looking forward to fitting the crashbars and skidplate.

martinh and Chadx, it's a good question. We strive to always have our products in stock, but with a new bike and new parts, it can be difficult to forecast demand at first. We will likely have everything evened out by June or July; if we do, we'd ship the same day if you ordered before 2pm Pacific time.

I just watched the install video. Including thread locker with the kit is a nice touch.

I just had to change out the front driveshaft on my truck this past month, since the CV joint went bad, and it was the first time I'd encountered threadlocked bolts. It took me a 2' breaker bar with most of my might to turn them out. They never loosened up the whole way out. What a chore. The threadlocker does its job I suppose.

If that happens again, try using a pencil torch(propane), and heat the bolt. It will loosen the thread locker and the bolt should back right out. 8)

.....and if you have access to one, use an impact gun. That red stuff is B@#ch. Heating it up definitely softens it.

My impact gun was useless on these bolts. The stuff in question was blue, not red.
