Hello

This has been addressed about a '13 model and I read the posts but did anyone try it with a '14 model? I am new so limited knowledge but I understand there were noticeable mods done between the '13 and '14 models. I already have the AltRider crash bars (came in today, not installed yet) and was looking at the ACD skid plate (not ordered yet); just want to make sure they work together.

Thanks

Just installed an ACD skid plate on my '14 . Already have Altrider crash bars. No issues. You just missed the ACD sale under the vendors forum. Take a look at the studs for mounting the skid plate, also in the vendors section.

Glad to hear is works well, looks like a good solid combo.

When you installed the ACD skid plate, you used the bolts that came with it and they worked just fine with the AltRider crash bars in place, or you had to use the studs that another member is selling?

Studs make it easier to pull for service without risk of cross threading the bolt holes in the cylinder head, not required but highly suggested

The setup will look like this when you're done.

Agree - using studs is the way to go.

Nice bike; are your tires K60? Tires are next on my list...my wallet is not liking me lately...but I'm getting there.

As mentioned, studs for easier oil changes. I see you're ordering some. Apparently ACD is doing the 10% off sale through April. ::008:: Don't be intimated by some of the posts about installing the skid plate. It wasn't bad at all to me. I did mine with the bike on the side stand and the center stand up. Just do one side of the center stand (stock bolt removal) at a time when replacing with the bushing that comes with the skid plate. Good luck!

No, those are the Mitas E07 tires. I've tried a lot of tires, including several sets of the K60s. The E07s are the best I've found for my type of riding.

ACD plate ordered and shipped with the 10% off; I did order studs from ABBlender as well, it was just making to much sens. Would you know at what torque the studs should be tighten up at? AltRider recommend 75NM for their original crash bar's bolts.
Glad you mentioned installing ACD plate while bike on side stand and center stand up; was going to call ACD to ask them about it, as they had the bike up in the air for their video.
Looking forward to have it all installed.
Thanks for all info ::008::

Yamaha manual shows the front engine bolts torque to 54 ft lbs. (Nm???). That's what I torqued the first nut to. I torqued the second nut (hold the skid plate only) to 48 ft lbs. Also, I used a stainless steel washer under each nut and had plenty of threads. I put some Loctite (blue should be fine) on the studs before threading them into the engine, tightened two nuts on the end of the stud and just got it snug. Remove nuts and proceed with install.

Hijacked... What air pressure are you running? Looking for a starting point. Thanks
