Not to be smug, but my Ouray trip continues!
Can't seem to get out of Colorado. :)

Been hanging around in Rocky Mountain NP.
What a road! Been going back n forth everyday.

Millions of spectacular views. Like this one:

Walk in any direction from this spot and try to get your head around what you see:

The wife likes to hike. Talks me into a jaunt. Started kind of flat for 3 miles. I was feeling good. Started a 3.3 mile assent. (She didn't know, to be fair)

Turned into a 14-15 mile life challenge, and as we came down out of the mountain the Ranger was getting ready to mount a 4-wheel drive rescue vehicle to come find us.
I was walking real slow with the aid of a stick.

Hurtin today.

Stayed at the camp while Mark n his wife went riding.
Nice thunderstorm rolled in. Brenda and I jumped in the truck to wait it out.
While sitting and enjoying it, I was going through some stuff and found a DVD that someone (you know who :) ) had been kind enough to leave near my tent at the Ouray KOA. Popped it in.

Holy Cow!
What a fantastic ride that was!
Steve, how can you do all that on a V-strom?
You are one amazing dude.
Thanks for the surprise gift. It was the perfect time and place to watch.

Ophir Pass. We went east to west. I think we got lucky and picked the best direction. The west side was tuff going down. Can't imagine going (trying to) up. What an awesome ride. I'm ready to move.
Joneil, it was a nice day riding with you, but that was tough enough for me. Especially the bit of that (4x4 short wheelbase only, I only read the sign after) jeep trail just south of Ouray off the Million dollar highway we did going up and turned around. Funny, the people we met driving the jeeps were telling us that our bikes were too pretty to be there :). I must admit, that trail scared me a bit and that's where I dumped my bike, I thought every mountain pass was going to be like that. Eemsreno told me later at the campground that he came down on that trail with his wife
You tricked me with Ophir ;) , it was nice going up, coming down was tough (I couldn't really use my rear brake), the edge looked smoother, but who the hell wanted to ride there ??? , it was rewarding in the end.
Silverton was a nice town, thanks again for the lunch we had there.
I just learned you're an ex marine, that is cool. ::003::

I'm pinching myself every morning when I climb out of the tent and take it all in over a cup of Jetboil coffee. :)

(I'm the early riser. Make coffee for everyone and hand it to them inside their tent.
Genius, ain't I? They wait on me the rest of the day. Humans. Funny animals.)

Japako, I would love it if you were sharing our camp fires. And I don't plan on ever missing a BB rally!

I want to thank Jackson and Karson for all the work they put in on the Rally.
It was a great Rally.
I need to thank Roger Pioszak at Caribou Luggage for the Banquet present I won.
It is very nice!

This is a video of riding back from the south west end of Ouray along the west side of river road (Oak Street) to the KOA on the north side of Ouray CO. About 6-7 miles total.

Nice dirt road and not many knew about it. It kept us off 550 going to and from Ouray and was more fun. Lots of good dirt just on the west side of the river and the KOA.

Grand Lake. Last gas on west side of Rocky Mountain NP.

Sleeping with critters.

Can't figure out how there is a proper road this high in the air.

Brenda insisted on a boat ride. Who am I to say no?

I promise my "Ouray Trip" is coming to an end. I'll shut up soon.

I had a great time in CO. Thanks to Jaxon for putting on a great rally and to everyone for showing up. I'm already looking forward to next year (wherever that will be).

As some may know, I took a bit of a spill Monday on Imogene - broken windshield, broken windshield mount, broken mirror, twizzlered shift lever, bent crash bars, etc).

2 weeks later and all the broken bits have been replaced. While not technically difficult, replacing the windshield mount was pretty involved. Basically had to remove the entire front end down to the triple tree. When all was said and done, I was thankful I didn't have a handful of bolts left over. ::012::
