I took these pictures while out riding before work today.
Living in the heart of deer country all my life this is the first albino I have seen.

Now that is pretty darn cool! Never seen an albino one myself. Thanks for sharing your well timed picture.

That is very special. Are you going to contact your Wildlife and Game department? They might want to track its progress.

That is a good idea.
I did read that it is not legal to shot one in Iowa.

I was actually very close and she just froze and looked at me, then I had to take off my gloves and dig in the tank bag for the camera and she took off.

way cool. There used to be a Albino deer not far from here, it lasted about two weeks into hunting season before someone plugged it. Shame, lots of other hunters like myself just stopped and enjoyed mother natures mutation.

I have always pondered if the curse was true, a science teacher in highschool shot an albino and had the head hanging in his classroom, he died from cancer. *Playing dark music*

I have never seen an albino whitetail , they happen... in our area there are what we call melonistic phase ( not sure of correct term or even spelling but it is what the locals call them) black whitetails.... they can be solid black to partial black... some what common and seem to be mostly around Lockhart Texas area...

Around here we'd still call them a target if we didn't find them hit by a car first.

A few years ago while traveling in the New York finger lakes area I found an area that is inhabited with white deer, although they were not albino, there is a difference.

I don't think the one we had in the backyard qualifies as an albino, but it was the most white deer I've seen. It was also the most fearless deer I had seen. I'd go outside and he was never in a hurry to get away.

Didn't take long to find it laying dead on the side of the road. A very, very, very common occurrence around here.
