I currently have an Airhawk cushion on my Tenere which is very uncomfortable due to it being the wrong size. Its to long. Its an Airhawk Cruser Small. Can anyone tell me which one they use and how it fits.
Cheers

I’ve read in forums that the Cruiser Large is what fits our seat best. I just ordered one but have not tried it yet.

I was using the Cruiser Pillion (11″ L X 9″ W) for both rider and pillion seats and that worked well for both of us.
Then I installed the Seat Concepts foam and seat cover kit with the carbon fiber cover. We no longer use the Airhawk cushions and can ride all day.

I found leveling the seat and getting rid of the gripper cover did all the good on the stock seat. I really couldn't tell much difference between the seat concepts and the stocker after that.

I’m using a Corbin seat, other than being to slippery it works very well for me. I bought the seat used and think the previous owner must have put Armor All or something like that on it attempting to make it look better, have tried washing it off a bunch of times but that doesn’t seem to help, I have put over 4,000 miles on the seat and it’s not as slippery as it used to be but it’s still more slippery than I prefer.

I purchased A AirHawk Dual Sport Seat Pad on 8-24-16 from Revzilla for $134.96 and it fits great and has served me well for many miles. Not sure if they still marker this size, good luck.

Mine too, my riding pants have me straddling the tank every time I let off the throttle. Try saddle tite or similar from a tack shop. Its a spray for leather horse saddles that makes them grip.

Thanks kaalsb I will be looking for some Saddle Tite ! Sounds like maybe your Corbin is even more slippery than mine is, have you actually tried Saddle Tite ?
I have found that if I just sprinkle a few drops of water on the seat before getting on the slipperyness disappears for quite awhile.

I actually have a Sargent, which would explain the difference in slipperiness. I haven't tried the saddle tite, its on my list to get a can of it. Some riders on ADV suggested it to someone else facing the same issue. I am interested to try a few drops of water and see if that does it for me. My Sargent grips my jeans just fine but my riding pants don't have the same effect.

I happen to be a pretty firm believer in wearing safety gear all the time so I’ve never tried just jeans on this Corbin seat.
About four years ago I totaled out a Goldwing by hitting a deer at night on the freeway at 70mph, I was very lucky to survive. I was wearing a very expensive motorcycle jacket that helped a lot but just jeans and both knees got skinned up pretty bad, the doctor said I was very lucky it happened on concrete because if it happened on blacktop the oil would have gotten in the wounds and caused a lot more misery. I only had one broken rib but my left thumb came apart because of the impact while holding onto the handlebars and my right wrist got pretty seriously sprained, they managed to put my thumb back together and I’m very happy about that but it will never fully recover, my right wrist is also still pretty painful at times.
Since that accident it’s very unusual for me to ride at all without full safety gear.

I won't try to top your story but let's just say I can relate. I'm happy you came out of it alive. You're giving really solid advice to wear all the gear whenever swinging a leg over the bike.

If I'm doing under 300 miles or so the stock seat is great. Otherwise I slap on the Airhawk. Instead of the straps that come with the seat I use a couple of small Rok Straps to secure it. I've had my Airhawk for over 10 years and a bunch of miles. It's been on my Ninja, Beta, and now Super Tenere.

When I did an Iron Butt on my Beta it was a life saver!! For the Super Tenere I just bought a new cover for 25 bucks.

Here is the Airhawk in action:

Oh man how brutal that was!!! FWIW, Iron Butts on a dual sport bike in your 50's is pure torture!!

How do you guys keep the airhawk from inflating when it gets super hot? I know I can reach down and try to unscrew the cap to adjust it a bit, but if I go to far it's pretty much useless. That's why I didn't take it on the second part of my long trip last year even though it was super comfortable.

Hmm, I've never heard of that issue? I inflate mine just to where my butt is barely touching the seat. It then just stays good through the ride. Now that your talking about it I'll probably notice it on my next long ride in the heat!! LOL

Yeah. Sorry about that. I went DC, Tampa, Houston, Amarillo, Boulder, Duluth, Indianapolis, DC above 100 degrees almost every day. It was brutal.
