Hi everyone, thanks for the warm welcome.

I recently moved town and because I don't know any good workshop yet, I'm servicing my XT 1200 2010 myself.
Following some you tube tutorials. On the air filter instead of finding this:

I found this:

Any advice ? Thanks,

R.

Some countries had those foam filters instead of paper. Or your bike may have been changed over by the previous owner. The foam filters are serviceable, clean and re-oil.

Thanks. By the state of these I think it might be worth to replace. Can't find the specifications to order tough. Any suggestion? Also I wonder which one would be best, paper or foam?

Some bikes sold new in the Aussie market came out with those up-rated filters coz of the fine dust they have over there. Personally i'd go back to the paper element type. I use Hi-flo...HFA4922. Moto1 have 'em listed in stock for $36.

Cheers,

Yes the early S10's came with those as standard fitment in Aus, part number is Yamaha Genuine Uni Air Filter 23P-14451-UF-01
I'm not sure what the NZ - AU exchange rate is but they are about $60 AU, the standard paper filter is around $55 not sure what it would cost to post but it would have to be a lot cheaper than $150 all up surely
