showing what happens to the stock balls

View attachment 98832
that happened to my new ones almost immediately and the left one wouldn’t hold any longer. I ordered the ones you suggested and the reverse thread adapter for the right side. i’ll swap them out soon. for now i sanded the balls and retightened them. hopefully they hold

Super helpful information, Jdubco...Thank you! I plan on taking your advise and getting the Brcovan ball mounts then piecing the rest together from the Doubletake website. Just want to confirm I'll need the reverse thread adapter (and extension for the other side) no matter what?

Thanks
After careful consideration of my question (for 45 seconds), I've figured out that, yes, I will need the reverse thread adaptor for the right side and extension for the left side so they're nice and even. Sometimes you just have the ask the stupid questions so you can get to the obvious answer yourself!

since its along the lines of this thread, I recently designed and 3d printed some bases to attach to some amazon spotter mirrors, to add to the ram arms. and not block part of the normal mirror. So far works fine they keep in place under 100mph :)

The one thing i did change on my double takes was swapping the ball to a non rubber one. on both sets that rubber ball gets worn in deform or even tear.
if i were to buy doubletakes again id just piece them together from their site and save on not buying the ones the ball mounts Doubletake sells.

So what adapters? My balls are also misshapen!

if you already have a set mounted you shouldnt need any new adapters just reuse the reverse adaptor and extension that you should already have to mount the old balls.
