After market slip on with no mid pipe elbow to lower exhaust?
A friend gave me a after market no name sport muffler that he was going to install on his Tenere, but sold the bike.
It didn't come with the extension mid pipe elbow it has spring clips and it slips on.
Now I could cut off the elbow from my factory muffler but I would rather find an elbow but can't seem to find one.
Want to keep my old muffler for long trips.
Can anyone point me in the correct direction please?

The easiest is to probably find another stock muffler and cut it off and weld or mate it to your new muffler. Someone out there will give you a muffler. At one point I had about ten of them and I just took them to the metal recycler. I would have given one away to anyone that wanted it.

Always cracks me up with someone wanting to sell a stock unit for $200-$400-$600 bucks.... I recycled 10+ and I probably got $6 bucks... LOL

If you dont like that idea, then maybe take it to a custom fab shop. There are many in each larger city. You can choose a cheep muffler shop all the way up to doing a pro pie-cut stainless steel or even titanium custom fit tubing.. Muffler shop is "probably" $75-100... A custom pro fab tube is probably $300-$500++++ (or much more depending on what you want)

So here are three price options for you... I was in a similar situation back in 2012. Over all these years I've received many compliments on the sound of my muffler and they look under the bike and it says Akrapovic. They say, Ive never seen a Tenere Akrapovic like that before. I then tell them that its actually a Right hand side Haybusa Carbon Akrapovic muffler that I custom installed. I had to make the connector elbow tube. Ive defiantly been there and done that.

Examples of the "pro" option:

I'm frankly surprised that I can't find an aftermarket Mid pipe for this bike.. I've looked all over the net.
Thinking of going to a muffler shop and see if they can cut and bend me a pipe.

Ive never seen a mid-pipe available. There are several funky clearance issues around the plastic CV joint cover / then up next to the sub-frame / and then having the correct angle for the muffler to be positioned to hang on the mount correctly without melting your turn signal or other "things"....... This is probably the reason they are not out on the open market. If you do go to a muffler shop, and they agree to do this job for you, I would HIGHLY suggest you keep an eye on things and make sure you're not melting the plastic CV joint cover attached to the swing arm.... You don't want a fat hole melted into that....
