Adding Heated Gear Question

I picked up a heated jacket and wanted to get some advice on the power connection. The PO of my 2014 S10 installed a Centech AP1. Should I use that to power the jacket or just go to the battery terminals. Advantages or disadvantages.

I go straight to the battery. I use that connection for my battery maintainer, air pump and heated gear. Nice looking power source you have there.

I usually go to the battery to avoid problems with the heated gear. Your pigtail to the battery should have an inline fuse already in it. That is a great power block and ideal or GPSs, aux lights, radar detectors, phone charging, etc.
