Last year the foam sound deadening pad on my 4 year old ACD Racing skid plate started to curl up on the lower right side where
the exhaust header pipe routes rearward. I used some wide strips of red 3M super strength molding tape to hold it down which
lasted for a while but the foam pad has once again started to curl up.
It seems like the foam pad was originally secured with some kind of industrial strength fabric reinforced adhesive.
Anyone out their have an idea what it might be or do you possibly have a better solution for me to use?

No idea about that pad, or skid plate. But epoxy it been the best glue (especially the one from gorilla). and pure cyanoacrylate when there is no gap between the two parts :)

Probably you could add a picture to have a better idea.

Is the foam they use for sound deadening bare or does it have a metallic foil as the top most layer to help reflect heat?

I use the thick UNI Filter foam pieces and just shove them loose between skid plate and motor.

Strictly for sound deadening, there is no layer of metal foil.

My Yamaha plate has the sound deadner foam but it’s not very big and after about 60,000 miles the Glue or whatever is holding it in place is still working fine.

My Touratech plate came with a piece of 1/4 inch thick rubber with 3m tape on one side. I can’t see that curling up anytime soon
