Have any of you recently purchased any thing from these guys.
Back in August i ordered a skid plate from them, paid in full plus they asked for extra for shipping to Canada. I did what they asked and NO skid plate to date.
Communication with them is poor in general being difficult to talk to anyone, all i get is messaging. Emails are also hit and miss and all of them say "we expect the orders in the next couple of weeks".
Last email said the factory moved location. WTF
I have been patient but its running out, as we are in Oct.
It would not be as bad if they would had not taken the money and then some as i would find another product instead.
BTW, what kind of business takes the money before they even have the product, proper ethical practice is to debit your account only when your purchased is ready for shipping and the shipper has the product at hand. Guess that doesn't apply to ACD or is that the case in the aftermarket adventure bike world.
What a way to treat your customer's, remember you would not have a business without us. So get your shit together.

I had a issue with online company as well a few months ago. But I have noticed that across the board lots of companies are having trouble and the customer is paying for it. Heck even the college I'm going to is doing bad. So far Amazon has been my best friend. I would look at the newest reviews from anywhere your buying. Like one service writer told me, it's due to covid and it's just the way it is.

Them taking the money up front and not having a product on-hand to ship or a reasonable time table to build one isn't cool. Their lack of communication with you has to be maddening. That said, and not making any excuses for them, but most every business has been affected by the pandemic, especially manufacturing, due to complete mandatory shut downs and/or supply chain issues with materials and parts. No telling what "normal" is for ACD, but just call your credit card company and dispute the charge saying the purchase was never completed.

Ordered some JIS screwdrivers off Amazon coming from Japan, after about 5 weeks they said the screwdrivers had been returned but they would ship them again if I was willing to wait. After about 4 months of waiting I requested a refund and they Refunded my money a couple days later.

I'm waiting on a skidplate from them as well. I was hoping for at least an email letting me know they were thinking of me.

Their lack of customer-service was no better two years ago when I tried to purchase one from them.
I tried to reach them a couple different times and got absolutely NO response............
Luckily I did not send them any money beforehand. I ended up taking my business to T-Rex, and bought one of their skid-plates.
Smooth and quick transaction from those guys in Texas!

There are often reasons outside the control of a company that can hinder a purchase; that's understandable. What isn't either understandable or acceptable is when a company takes your money and refuses to even communicate with you about the delays. There's nothing that would stop a company from sending out an email explaining why there's a delay, and giving you the option of a refund, and nothing that prevents a company from responding to you in a timely manner when you try and contact them. It doesn't matter if you're a one man show and your favorite dog just died; you took someone's money, which is an act of faith on the part of a customer that you'll fulfill your obligation. When you not only don't deliver what you promised, but you won't even respond when a customer understandably wants to know what happened to the item they ordered, you aren't a businessman, you're a thief. I saw this sort of shady business practice for years when I was an investigator; contractors operating with one foot in bankruptcy, taking money from new customers to pay off past debt, when the contractor had no real ability or intention of ever fulfilling the new order.

I always appreciate posts like this, because it only takes one such incident like this to make me steer clear of the company that perpetrated it.

I sent an email this morning to their head office in Spain about the situation, i do not know if it will get a response but ACD cost me slightly over the $500 and if i don't get any reasonable actions from them in the next week i will cancel the order and try to get the money back with any luck.
I will also send another email to ACD USA.

The CEO of ACD in Spain contacted me via email after i sent them an email regarding this a couple days ago. They are working on resolving this issue and were very apologetic on the situation. I hope there is a learning point in staying in contact with the customer and not leaving them in the dark. I'm hopeful that i will receive the goods in the next few weeks as per the CEO.

Have you tried to call their contact named Yanic in the US?
This past May I spoke with him because I needed some replacement bolts for
my ACD skid plate and Yanic was quite helpful and got me sorted out for what I needed.
Although I am not sure if he is still with ACD let me know If you would like the US phone number.

I see that their black 2014+ skidplate is not even listed anymore on their site. Silver has been "pre order" for a long time (black was also pre order before it was removed).

2010-2013 silver is available now which I think is a new development but I really didn't pay much attention to that model.

Too bad, they had been on the top of my list.

Its not just ACD, but all the aftermarket manufacturers are not producing parts for the Super Tenere. You can’t blame them, they are in business to make money. Now you can find all kinds of stuff for the new T7.

Tabasco is welding me up the best skid plate on the planet.

Show me another skid plate that is even half as tough. You cant. It doesnt exist.

This one does NOT bolt to the motor case, so it can take real impact and you can jack up the bike on it all day long. 1/4” high strength aluminum alloy. Tig welded.

Screw these businesses that are nothing more than a drop shipper for a chinese factory.

This one is expensive. Full stop. It was also made by hand in Texas by someone who owns a tenere and gives a damn.
