Thank you guys. I'm glad you don't feel I'm wasting your time.

Definitely not wasting my time, thoroughly enjoying the report and the pics. Also, am liking that Mosko set up, will be giving that some thought for my 2022 Scandinavian trip.

Cheers.

All I can say is wow. Yeah, Texas has nothing like that to offer. I dream of roads like that.

This is my second season with the R80.
I love it!
For me it's the best luggage option available.

How do you fit the Mosko Moto with the exhaust in the way? Have you a picture from the back or other side. I am just trying to fit saddle bags to mine without a rack. I have done it, buts it's not great with the exhaust! I have used my packed up chair on the other side to replicate the exhaust to balance the angle of the bags! Works fine but it's no time great. Have fun on your road trip...IMG_3307.JPGIMG_3306.JPG

I just fit the R80 as intended by Mosko Moto.
The base is pretty stiff and it fits the T12 like is was build for the bike.
I hope these pictures helps:

I hope you are still following - the ride report isn't done yet :)
Still following. Still amazed at the building construction. Looks like a ton of history. "My" opinion is that a 300cc bike for touring over here is too small. There are some wide open, nothing around, places out west. I would think that a KLR would be the smallest for the job. But, it's single cylinder uses oil at sustained 75-80mph trips. No harm, just uses it. But, this is just my two øre.

When my German ex moved to the US, we went to the Smithsonian museum for US history and when we came out she asked where the real historical items were. It took her a bit to get the context of a country that has less than 500 years of history.

Scooters and small bikes make a lot of sense on tight cobble streets.

Yeah, I kept looking at all those cobblestone streets, and thinking about how slippery they must be when they're wet.

If I was going alone I would probably have picked something like the T7, but when the going gets tough +200 kg is too much for Katrine to handle.

The more I learn about the 300 Rally the more convinced I am that it will be a great bike for the kind of trip we have in mind.

When we heads out we'll have funds for at least 8 years of travel. This means that we are not in a hurry to get anywhere but can take the scenic route wherever we go (BDR, TAT and the like in North America).
According to owners of the 300 Rally, it can cruise comfortably at 70 mph all day long with no issues. That's plenty fast for the kind of roads and tracks I prefer riding.
