Great job editing! Looks like a spectacular rode. Always love riding around the Aspen area, but never did that one. Thanks for sharing it.

Unfortunate that you tipped over, hopefully no real damage, what brand crashbars are you using ? I probably wouldn’t have been able to pick mine up by myself in that spot !

I actually had to pick it up three times by myself before I could get out of the rocky ravine. I was pretty wiped-out from that.................around 11,000 ft altitude.
The picture doesn't show how steep the trail was..................Unfortunately I had already committed to the downhill before I realized how many loose rocks there were.
Luckily a person on a dirt-bike came by and helped give me a push to get some momentum to get me back up out of there the way I came.

Crash-Bars are Yamaha Factory Lowers, with the add-on Rumbux Uppers. They took a bit of abuse that day.

The only damage was to the left side radiator grill-panel and the radiator fan assembly.
When it landed on the left side there was a big enough rock that was placed directly in between the bars, and it made it to the bodywork.
Luckily it did not do any damage to the Radiator itself. I rode it home just fine.

Fantastic job with the video, thanks for sharing. I would have had a blast doing that on the WR250 but alas, I have neither the confidence to attempt something like that on a 600 lb bike nor the stamina to repeatedly pick the big girl back up after I run out of talent. Hats off to you!

Great video!

how’d the ABS work going downhill?
It works "ok". You have to know where the traction is while you are focused on picking a good line, and apply the brakes accordingly.
The brakes in general don't work too well when you're rolling over loose baby-head rocks.
That Ravine that I ended up in kicked my ass!

Around here the SxS crowd tears up the trails, the dirt washes away and all that's left is rocks. Riding downslope with the ABS is a butt puckering ordeal. Much better with it disabled when dealing with the "babyhead" rocks.
