Ha, I second the motion on the Givi Outback cases. Plus you can close them securely without locking them which is a nice feature.
Bought them from Italy at a ridiculous price, something like 7 or 8 hundred shipped, for all 3.
Hmmm, I'm not able to close/latch mine without locking..... :question:

Wow, that looks way wide! What does it measure across?
Yes, looks every bit as wide as my first Tenere was with the Givi Trekkers (not Outback). Much wider than the OEM cases.

What about the Brooks Autosports jobbers? These are $775 shipped with the racks, and as far as I can tell no significant differences between these and other premium priced cans. I like the Jesse cases because I like how tightly they fit up next to the bike. I also like the Holan setup for the same reason, but these aren't a practical choice at the moment because it takes 6 months to get a set. In fact, if Holans were readily available, they would be at the top of my list. But with that not being the case, it's hard to spend $1100+ when you can spend $775 and pretty much get the same thing.

Gentlemen,

A few of you were asking what the width of my Givi Outback Trekker series panniers were in comparison to my handlebars. I just took a picture and did a measurement for you. The picture looks a little deceiving from the angle I was on, but the true dimensions of the handlebars with stock hand guards was approximately 39", compared to 41" on the panniers. Again, I have 37L and 48L respectively.

I have had 3 sets of Happy Trails panniers over the past many years. I presently run the Denali 47 liter panniers and a 50 something litre top box running length wise with the rear pillan removed. I have never had issues with leaking or mounting. The Denalis are 35 1/2" wide. Price on the website is under $900 for the panniers and mounts with free shipping. I like em a lot.

Nice panniers Cruiser. As long as panniers don't leak, offer some protection when you fall, and have decent locks, you can't go wrong with any brand. It's all preference really. ::001::

Are Golan Nomads still available? I've had mine for about two years and LOVE them. They have the exhaust cut out and integrated grab handles which keeps the bags close to the bike. I went.with the 45 litre because I travel for work and usually have to pack a lot of clothes.

If it's the Holan Nomada you're asking about (I assume so) then in theory they are available. In practice it takes at least 6 months to get them, last I checked.

Hey OP, thanks for posting this thread. As a result of me posting in it, I scored a set of Touratech Zega Pro's in black (which I wanted) with racks, lid nets, and liners for, well...I won't torture you all with the exact number, but if I started with $1000 before I bought these, I'd have enough left for new tires, gas, and lunch. A big lunch. For multiple people :)

Don't despair. Getting gthis deal means that I can order the ones I really want, and when they get here in 8 months I'll sell the Touratechs. This makes me happy on multiple fronts, aince s) I really want Holans, and b) I pretty much can't stand Touratech so it will be a great day when the Holans arrive :)

So which is it? ::)

Just messin' with ya. I go back and forth on things like this, too. But when I saw the Bumots, I just knew, I received them yesterday at 6:30 p.m. and had them installed that evening. Very happy with them, and like I said, Not looking back.

I see the confusion; what I meant was that I want black, not that I wanted the TT cases. Theyre great cases I'm sure, and there is the possibility that they'll be keepers. After all its a great deal. I should have pics up this weekend.

Thanks for clearing that up. So easy to misunderstand the printed word when there is no facial expression or voice tone to rely on.
Now, let's see, Nashville, I may be down that way sometime this summer. My favorite niece lives in Bowling Green, KY, her husband works at a Harley dealer and he rides one.
