Thanks,

It's 1/2". I have my Zumo and iPhone on it. I didn't like having to look down to see the GPS.RicoChet said:With that in mind, what is the diameter of the bar in the middle? What are some fun accessories to install on there... I already have a phone and GPS mounted with Ram mounts on the bars...
Fair enough! I find that the bar is too far away for my eyes to see details on small screens. Also too far away to reach versus just having my hand there. I'd like to find some fun accessories to put on that bar though. Maybe a humidity sensor or something. who knows.Stef said:It's 1/2". I have my Zumo and iPhone on it. Probably the biggest bang for the buck farkle you could add to the bike. So glad that Propsoto is still cranking them out for folks.Brick said:Oh yea these are Fantastic! WELL worth the money!
My prototype didn't move from the full up position in two years. Last summer I installed the same laser cut braces that I've been selling. My windscreen hasn't moved.WJBertrand said:Well I think the braces actually help smoothen the air flow as the shaking windscreen seems to add turbulence. One observation is that I still have a bit of side-to-side vibration but it's a lot less than the back and forth shaking I had before. One quandary; after a couple days test riding I thought looking at the windscreen that it seemed lower. Went to check it and sure enough it was only one notch up from all the way down. I thought that strange because I generally run it all the way up and when I installed the braces, I did so one at a time so as to maintain the height setting. I don't know whether I let it slip down during installation or what. The adjustment nuts were nice and tight so I don't think it slipped down by itself. I've reset it to all the way up, confirmed it, and will monitor it for a while. Has anyone ever noticed this using these braces?
Thanks, I don't really want to loctite them as I do use the adjustment occasionally. Also, the adjustment knobs did not seem loose at all. I need to investigate a bit further with some additional miles.Propsoto said:My prototype didn't move from the full up position in two years. FWIW before I installed any braces, I put a drop of blue Loctite on the threads of the large adjustment nuts because my windscreen kept falling down. The Loctite solved that problem. When I installed the latest braces, the adjustment nuts were still fairly "sticky". So I'd be careful not to overdo it with the Loctite.
Not having to regularly re-tighten those adjustment knobs has been one of the unexpected benefits of installing the braces. I think all the buffeting before would work them loose. While I'm still in the habit of checking them occasionally, they haven't worked their way loose since installing the braces over 10k miles.Propsoto said:My prototype didn't move from the full up position in two years.
