I got a second letter today from Yamaha USA. This one thanks you for your purchase and directs you to the web site. They also lay out the three packages (X-Country Terrain, Comfort and Convenience and Adventure Touring) available at the time of order. They also provide details on the Go-Pro camera included with the purchase of X-Country and Comfort package, and the Go-Pro HD included in the adventure touring package. I got the comfort set up when I ordered. Its nice to see Yamaha keeping in touch.

Just got back from seeing the Tenere in person at a local dealer and found a second letter too!
I was really hoping it was a late Christmas present stating that I had been chosen to receive my bike early as part of some marketing ploy ;D but alas, it was not to be! :'(

I'll be ordering my Super Tenere shortly but I was wondering what the dealers are charging for the bike or is that something you have to negotiate? I'm guessing that due to the newness and demand for the bikes the dealers will be charging a fortune!

Shop around. There are "deals" to be had, especially if you enjoy "fly and ride". If none of your local dealers will work with you, check some of the volume dealers in TX and the mid-west.

Should be able to go to your LOCAL dealer and order without much trouble.
I don't mind MSRP so a guy can make a living and I;ll probaly run in to the owner of our dealership at the local grocery store sometime.

I got the "second letter" today, too, but for me, it was my "first letter". I ordered a couple weeks ago on 12/17/2010 and haven't received the "be patient" first letter that all of you that ordered back in Sept - Oct. received. Maybe they stopped sending those if ones order was after a certain date? Or maybe the letters come from two different departments and the "buy some accessory package" department is faster on the draw than the other department. Ha.

I got the 2nd letter. Only one problem, you can't order the stuff yet. Or at least I cant. I tried last weekend to order the Touring package from my yamaha dealer where I bought the bike. Parts are unavailable TBA. Yea they will take your money but no eta on the parts. I walked out. Then I get a letter telling me to go order the stuff. Frustration with yamaha is setting in. Manufacturer's love playing games with their parts/accessory items.

I just had my dealer agree to install the parts at no cost to me when I pick up by S10. I cant use them anyway till I get the bike so it wasn't a big deal to me. The only thing I need to get to them is the bracket to relocate the heated grips to the bottom of the IP.

I got my second letter also. Kind of a waste of paper. I went to look at the bike in South St Paul. You would they could have some accessory catalogs out. Give a guy time to do some research.

Yeah and I love how they say " Over the next several weeks as we await arrival of your new machine......" Should be "Over the next several MONTHS...." :(

I remember when the first thread started on ADVrider, we will never get that bike here, don't waste your time talking about it. LOL

They will not have any demos and expect us to order PDP. LOL

Now, we have a farkles list, we can't even order the stuff why show it. LOL

Oh ye of such little faith. LOL

Heck, half of you like me will not even put the yamaha stuff on your bike. LOL

We have come a long way! I remember seeing it for the first time and never thought it would make it over here. Glad we got the chance, even if it is still months away! ;)

My 2nd letter finally came today. You all are right, nothing too exciting that I haven 't already heard and researched and looked and drooled over time and time again. It is nice to know Yamaha is keeping in touch with us.

I wonder if they are worried about us loosing interest? Granted we all invested $500 but I heard a dealer state Yamaha shipped a bunch of bikes back in the '80's that nobody wanted. Some of those units took 5 years to sell and left Yamaha gun shy, hence the start of the PDP program.
I for one am committed or at least I should be! ;D

I'm committed also, but lets send something a little more constuctive. An accessory book with the specs on what they are offering. You can't even bring up the packages on the dealer sites. Nothing comes up
