Yukon Yamaha is excited to have us back. Anyone planning on travelling that way before or after this event contact them at yukonyamaha@gmail.com, Gary Lammers is the general manager or Doug Caldwell in parts and service. They keep a good selection of tires on hand but are usually busy in the summer.
As far as accommodation choices. If interested in info from the tourism office contact Marie Desmarais at marie.desmarais@gov.yk.ca .She has list of campgrounds and motels she can send.
The Robert Service campground is on the outskirts of town. May be some limited opportunity at Rems place.
Those of us travelling from southern Vancouver Island plan to head out Sunday July 3rd via Lilloet, Quesnell and the Stewart Cassiar highway. Arriving in Whitehorse Thursday. We will be at Yukon Yamaha Friday.
Now we watch and see when the border restrictions come off.

I'm hoping to have a ten year reunion of the 2012 Yukon Rally in Whitehorse Yukon next summer. Looking at June 24-26th or there about. Rem Ricks still rides a Tenere and has offered up his garage for light maintenance if needed and his yard as a meet up spot. We will be in touch with Yukon Yamaha for some sort of support. If you are planning to travel to Alaska next year this could be a good break. The first time there were 18 riders from all over Canada and the US. I wonder how many of the original group are still here? Lets find out.

I'm interested, planning a trip to AK, and would like to do that top of the world ride to Chicken...

That's a great ride alright. Check out Eagle Alaska it is right on the Yukon River a slight detour off the top of the world highway on the way to Chicken. Not much there but a pretty cool ride.

April 1st vaccinated travellers will be able to cross the Canadian border with no pre testing requirements.

I have a T shirt design in mind just need a bit of time to work up a sample. Been extra busy in work and personal life. Looking forward to getting on the road. Our man Rem in Whitehorse is going stir crazy as well. Sounds like its been a rough winter up there, the usual cold but lots of snow.

I think Bob is no longer an ST guy, this may effect me and going to the rally.
Well I haven’t sold the ST yet, but have the big garage toy hauler sold. The new toy hauler garage will only hold one bike. So I guess I am out. Sorry Patrick.

I have a friend in Whitehorse that I was to visit in 2020 then COVID happened. I'm planning for Gander, Newfoundland for 9/11 this year and Whitehorse next year. I'll connect to this so I can get all the wonderful advice this site offers.

It is unfortunate that the organizers have done a piss poor job of promoting this, unless your in the loop I have heard and seen nothing concerning this event.
I will be traveling into the Yukon in early July and would had been interested in getting involved in this event, but plans are set now and if I would had known much earlier I could had made the plans.
I have organized large snowmobiling events in the past, its a lot of unappreciated work that has to happen to get the awareness out there and then some.

Due to minimal activity in this thread recently, Is it fair to assume this event is not going to happen? I'm not judging or complaining, stuff happens and life gets in the way, but it would nice to know either way.

Sorry life has been more than full recently, anyway 4 riders heading out from the island Sunday July 3rd planned stops overnight in Quesnel, Smithers and Dease Lake. Planning to be in Whitehorse Thursday July 7 afternoon.
We will be staying at Rem’s place just south of town at the Mt Sima ski hill
Again planning to meet up at yukon yamaha Friday morning. Have nothing planned we will just wing it.
Anyone travelling through before or after make sure to stop by the dealership and say hi if nothing else. They are a great group of people. Phone number is (867) 668-2101. The parts guy is Doug Caldwell.

I had planned on attending but when there was no further info or updates on the rally I removed it from my calendar.

Thanks for the update, DougC. I do have my bike prepped for the ride but having been to Whitehorse 4 times and border restrictions now lifted, I think I’m going to travel USA this summer. Have a great ride to the land of midnight sunshine.
