Same, I have tried the 1200 2018 GS, it was just a regular bike to me, the ADV which have an heavier engine steering wheel is an absolute fun toy especially at low speed and in corners, I have no doubts the 1250 is a masterpiece, the problem is likeSierra1 said the long term reliability, I truly do like the machine but I wont want to have grey hairs before 50 .. the same with the reliability oif Japanese and I buy 1 immediately.

There's a 2016 in Oklahoma City for $9,500 - 10k miles. From what I've found, I think that's pretty good yea? It's on Advrider....

Edit: I did come to an agreement on the this machine. He a added a bit extra for some Mosko bags, etc.... I'll fly from Carson to OKC on 23APR and ride back.

Guess I should post an intro now............

So, it looks to be black (which, oddly enough, is why I wanted a 2021 model.....)
Hope it's ok to post the link (https://advrider.com/f/threads/2016-yamaha-super-tenere-es-oklahoma.1497224/). Feel like it's a good deal.

Many, many, many more questions will be posted in the coming months.

Priorities - exhaust system (for power, not sound - I hate loud bikes), flash, and suspension.

Again, thanks for the support - and guiding me down the right Path.

Most of the power from an aftermarket exhaust comes from the decatted headers, not the end can. The stock muffler with the Arrow headers is a popular setup for those who want to keep the sound down.

Understood. I'm working my way through the Power and Exhaust forum - back to front - and am on page 21. Lots to learn.....
Basically flash, then headers, then end can in that order. The end can adds a little power, but not much. The headers added about 7hp on top of what the flash added. You can feel it the most at highways speeds, keeps pulling where the stock header feels lethargic.

Thanks Twin - I ordered the Arrow Headers from Revzilla about an hour ago. I might keep the stock can to keep the dBs reasonable (based on your advice and a few other things I've seen). Plan on getting it flashed on day 1.

You'll need a packing spacer to mate the arrow headers to a stock can. I made one out of a strip of aluminium. The stock headers have a mesh packing fitted to them but the arrow ones don't (or at least mine didn't!).

I just bought a replacement exhaust gasket from Yamaha.
