In May my girlfriend and I are heading to the Iberian peninsula - more precisely northern Portugal and the green corner of Spain (Galicia, Asturias and Cantabria).
We have 3-4 weeks at our disposal which should be enough to thoroughly explore the area - even considering it's a 4-5 days ride from home when avoiding the highway as much as possible.
I got the idea for the trip in the fall coincidentally watching a stage of Vuelta Espania where they passed through Picos de Europa. The area looked ideal for riding.
We will include Portugal as it's the only country in Europe my girlfriend haven't visited yet - and I would love to introduce her to a guy and his family that hosted me when I visited the country for the first time on two wheels back in 2016 (
my RR).
It will be a mostly tarmac ride, but if any of you have recommendations regarding easy gravel/dirt roads suited for big bikes (especially in Picos de Europa) I'm all ears!
In the fall I expect to do a weeks ride to Italy with some of my buddies. The purpose for that trip (besides the riding) is to attend the MotoGP race at Misano.
It's nice to have something to look forward to while the bike is hibernating.
