3. 1 ball dryer lint (any color)
4. 1 Qt Swamp water
5. 1# garage sweepings
6. your jeans and t-shirt

DIRECTIONS

Add all ingredients to Wife's Tupperware
Seal Tightly
Shake thoroughly
Using your jeans and t-shirt, apply liberally to your Ride
(note: HOGS may require 2 coats)
Dry jeans and shirt
Allow your ride to dry
Don jeans and shirt

Ride on! No one will know you are a poser *S*S*S*S*

This is a hard one....I mean...how many marriages the second time around with the same person go better?
Wait....I actually know someone that is in this exact scenario....and he owns a Super Tenere! (WJBertrand can back me on this...).

Never mind. I say ditch the new hotness and go after old reliable! It seems to be what you want and you know what to expect. Maybe this time around she'll let you do all those things you begged for in the past...

...as the old saying goes...get whatever it is that gets you out on the road and helps you enjoy the adventure!

After three trips across Kansas on a bike in the last few years, I think that's a state where even a Bedouin would say "holy crap, is it ever hot and windy here".
Go north a hundred miles. I-80 Omaha to Denver and try to stay awake when it is 90+ degrees!

I know it is slab but trying to get to good stuff only wasting one day!

I always felt that the BMW R/GS is the equivalent to a Mercedes Benz G-Wagen as they are both German, flashy, desirable, competent, problem plagued and overpriced.
The Yamaha S10 is the equivalent to a Toyota Land Cruiser as they are both Japanese, functionaly styled, ideally practical, competent, beyond reliable and priced within reason.

Keep cool on a really hot day. Get a small towel, run under cold water, and place it around your neck ensuring that it doesn't blow off. Amazing way to keep cool

I have a cooling vest stored in a gallon ziplock bag. Stop at McDonalds (Horton’s) and hit the head. Fill bag with cool water. Get a burger or meal.

Leave and let excess water run out of the vest. Put under vented jacket. Will keep your core 20 degrees F cooler.

Rode through Kansas City at 105 (who knows the temp on the slab) without any problem.

Was loading the Ténéré for the rally in Arkansas and wanted my frog togs rain gear in the cruiser. Grabbed the bags. On the way home it was raining. Remember that ride Limey?

Anyway put on the pants and at 40 degrees open the jacket bag. At that temperature did not put on the cooling vest that I took with me!!! Wrong bagee

We all lean a little bit even when the wind doesn't blow.
LOL, I don't doubt that for a second. When I crossed east to west on my way to Colorado this past summer, the wind blew from my left front for a solid 6 hours. The only break was when a tractor trailer passed me in the opposite direction, giving me about a millisecond of calm before the wind hit again. I never experienced a wind that blew that consistently for that long from the same direction; I was exhausted by the time I pulled into Goodland.

I crossed the state on my Harley back in June '09; I remember describing that as like being wrapped in a wet wool blanket and beaten with a baseball bat.

I too made a big mistake. I had a 2011 and 2014 Ze Tènèrè riding approx 35k. I bought a GSA in 2016 trading Tènèrè against it. Since that I've had an S1000XR, GS LC lowered, Africa Twin DCT and tomorrow I'm back to a Super Tènèrè. I'm so excited as I know it's the bike for me. I've lost a lot of money around, 9k in this trip but life is not a rehearsal I'm looking forward to the Spring.

You mentioned an Africa Twin DCT in the mix. I've just traded in my 2016 AT Clutch model (30,000 km in two seasons) for a new 2018 Super tenere. What were your thoughts on the AT. How did it compare on power/performance against the Tenere?? Thanks...

I would say other than the DCT that both bikes are fairly equal. The Tènèrè is more comfortable particularly for my pillion and easier maintained. The DCT 21" front wheel was less comfortable on road but worked in favour off road. I was less enamoured to take Tènèrè off tbh. Overall the Tènèrè would and is my choice
