Portions of the COBDR near Telluride were a little slimy today. Adventure occurred.

No injuries but front cockpit busted up good. Rider was able to make it out of the forest after some fancy field repair. Duct tape, bailing wire and zip ties.

FM Rider and I strapped 2 Teneres to my little trailer and drove nearly non-stop from CO to central FL. Last night we pulled into a truck stop, unloaded his bike, and parted ways. He rode the nearly 150 miles home, arriving safely on his birthday. As if on cue, this AM my driveway was covered with coolant, leaked out of the truck, from what I think is the water pump seal.

Thanks to all who contributed to the thread, and huge thanks to those who turned up - in order of appearance:
Shredmeister and Mrs. Shred
OldTramp and Mrs. OldTramp

As I've said from the start, I was going to do this trip even if no one showed up, and that anything more than that would be a bonus. I expected to be blown away by the riding, the scenery, the altitude... I was not prepared for how much more I was blown away by the sheer overabundance of "bonus."
I figured we'd share a few rides, maybe some supplies, a bit of labor... but we were also sharing meals, and drinks, and stories, and laughs, and advice, and plans, and assistance - the genuineness and generosity of these fellow riders was amazing, and restorative.

Plus Mrs. Shred rode the cooler!!

Let the snoozer bashing begin:

I had a great week of riding after making the decision to go at the last minute. Met a great group of riders and new friends. Sure didn't mean to remodel my S10 but things happen. About $1300 in parts so far but nothing to difficult to unbolt and replace. Here are a couple more pics of the beginning and end. Just a friendly reminder to slow way down when exiting ruts on greasy roads!

Not all rides up the mountain go smoothly but Shred saved the day here. I was not in the ideal line and there was a rock ledge about 8 inches high that punted me backwards. Helps to have good crash bars and luggage racks to protect the bike. Not even a scratch from this.

7/11/17: FM Rider, Silverbullet, and Steve go to Utah and Arizona

Why is it only the oldest guy has hair? And not pure grey either like mine would be. Lol

I just left Silverton yesterday, spent two days riding with Dynobob and his wife. Did Corkscrew, Hurricance and California Passes Day 1 and a nice twisty $1M Hwy pavement ride up and back and COBDR dirt easy route up to Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP on Day 2. In case any of you were wondering Hurricane Pass is way more technical than Ophir was. It was like those two rough sections of Ophir multiplied by 5. My cell phone decided to die the last day so cannot post photos. Dynobob is a serious photog though so he's sure to have some crazy good photos posted before too long I bet.

Must be clean living SilverBullet because it sure isn't my riding ability! Disappointed I didn't get to see more of Colorado this trip.

That could be it as I've lived about as clean as a feral hog. But I've had fun and continue to. Get that bike back together and lets ride. I'm out on the road explorjng often.

FM, curious as to the final tally on you bike. I'm waiting on a shipment from Partsfish. I was pleasantly surprised - stuff was cheaper than I thought.

...

I hope to post a link here in the next few days with a bunch of photos and video I shot. There are just so many epic memories, and I can't thank you all enough for being part of it. It will probably include some cooler riding footage. That's COOLER riding, not cooler RIDING.

Next, can I interest anyone in the "2018 UFO sled ride n' camp"?
