This was a (although smaller) much better organized location as compared to the madness and chaos at MMM.

That's the kind of riding I enjoy , too . My VStrom 650 was great at it , I hope to get my S10 out there soon. Thanks for posting the inspiration !

This track called the Georgia Traverse (Jeep focused) is about a 2hr ride away. We were finally able to ride one 70mile section. The rock garden for me was kind of a ‘deep end’ ride. Glad I did not do it on my own. But the S10 just goes and doesn’t want to stop.

Two evenings ago we had a thunderstorm really dump some water on us. Ruined a nice walkout.

Anyhow I’m sitting inside the house fiddling around with the ride videos and photos (as we all do) and I hear the garage door open and something rolling out.

Must be the better half running to do some distress shopping, I thought! But her not letting me know was unusual. So I went to the garage and checked. Emptiness! The spot where I park up the Tenere (my motorcycle) was empty. Nothing. Just air! And the garage was wide open. The rain thundering down.

As I look outside, towards the corner of the drive, there’s the Tenere. Almost smiling having the rain wash all the dirt off and looking all prim and proper; spic and span! The bike just doesn’t want to stay dirty. “I’m clean now. Let’s go and get dirty again” it seems to keep suggesting. Who am I to argue!

I had nothing to do with the bike getting cleaned up after the Adventury Georgia Traverse Ride. Nope. Not me. Never.

Everyone does say that this is an amazing bike. But this amazing? Who’d have thunk it!

(Well! That’s my story and imma stick to it!)

That's such a fun looking ride Rambler!! Why can't I find a nice dirt road like that. All the dirt roads here in the mountains and desert start out like the one you were on. They then turn into nasty off camber rocks ruts and deep sand. I'm still searching.....

Try Highway 173 out of Silverlake, heading up to the Pinnacles. It eventually turns into Arrowhead Lake Road, a nice "Cadillac" dirt road (as an old ADV rider friend of mine would call it) and takes you all the way into Hesperia.
