Today I installed new Cyclops light bulbs and connected my Gerbings and Battery Tender cords; nothing difficult, I've done this a dozen times before. Of course, Ive taken off the gas tank, side panel to access the battery, as well as both seats.

Got all the cords and bulbs installed, and now the engine will not turn over ( the lights work, and I can hear the fuel pump activate). First I checked all the fuses and connectors behind the side panel as well as the battery; everything I can see looks good. Then I removed the fuel tank along with the fuel line and both electric connectors; everything under the tank looks correct.

This has to be electrical; the starter must not be getting fire.

Do any of you have any ideas? Is there a hidden fuse somewhere?

IIRC, there was another member with a very similar issue. Have you tried the "search" window. I can never get it to work.

Simple thought, but this fooled me once. Did you accidentally rock the red kill switch into the off position while muscling things around? Sometimes it's the simplest things. I don't know how many time I "fixed' equipment reported down in my time as a Navy Electronics Technician by moving an on-off switch to the proper position. Maybe not it, but a thought.

Forget to reconnect a cable when you installed the additional connectors? And.....check the fuses with a meter, not your eyeballs.

If the dash display all lights up correctly & you have the neutral light, then I reckon it's time to re-check the fuses with a meter too. Page 6-30 in my owner's manual.

I assume the battery leads were never somehow reversed during the install process.

so my question is why remove gas tank to access the battery or to install cyclops bulbs ?
on my gen 1 ,after my trip to Moab , the next day after getting home , my bike would not start . crank crank crank , nothing. WOT , nothing . WOT again , nothing . crank crank crank , still nothing . so in frustration I left the bike alone for a few days ..... crank crank crank , nothing . now I'm getting pissed and thinking (what the hell ,what if I was not at the house why ,
want it start ?) for a week this went on . then another day another try , vroom vroom vroom , it started like normal ....... im thinking my last gas stop (kinda an iffy not chain gas station convenience store ) I Got some bad gas I think . only time it ever acted that way , no other explanation I can think of ..... now your bike want even turn over to try and start .... that sucks .... something has to be loose or a fuse .did something get pinched when you reinstalled the tank ?
and im not trying to bust your chops cause I know your already frustrated . so good luck .
so there is almost no reason to remove gas tank to do what most of us do , air filters spark plugs etc. (I guess I just busted your chops , but you are new to this bike and forum .) hope to hear your solution soon. good luck.

I don't know why you removed the passenger seat, it didn't need to be removed. but taking this as a fact. check (under the passenger seat), that the angle/fall sensor is in place, and if it is in place, that it is in the correct position. This sensor prevents crank/ starting (or stops the engine in a fall)
