So is the conclusion that the 4 pin connector near the tool kit is basically useless for accessories at this point?
Hey Max,
The 4 pin plug connector near the tool kit battery area is for the addition of heated grips. The 3 pin connector is a 20 amp fused plug to power auxiliary lighting.
I believe that Eastern Beaver has the plug compatible for the 3 pin plug. I used the 3 pin plug to power my auxiliary LEDs
There's several posts about these plugs.

Do you have the Eastern Beaver part number for the female connector needed to use the 3pin male connector under the right side panel? Thanks, Ric.

Purchased this on Ebay, worked great for me though I had to relocate the tool kit.

the spot lights on mine were wired to the aux 3 pin plug when I got it, I have now used the aux plug for my sat nav. Can I run both from the same source or do they have to be wired seperately?

Never did get an answer. Does anyone have the part # for the 3pin female connector from electricalconnection.com?

...just thought I'd add this. Beware, it's a package of 20 sets of male and female.....enough to last anyone for a millennium.

If anyone is in Canada is interested, I'll send you a set or two for free. Postage to my USA friends is probably more than the plug is worth but I do go to northern MN occasionally and could mail from there.

ok lets see if this works. im an elecgtrical idget so i need just a little clarity. you guys are much smarter than me

1. i will locate the 3 pin aux light connector.
2. i will pull the three plugs out of the pin holes, exposing the itty bitty electrical posts.
3. i will plug in this;

4. Then I will wire it into this.

Screenshot (4).png

connecting The black to black. The big wire (always on) to battery terminal on the fuse block. but then......

My question is, do i then hook up the switced power (smaller wire on yamaha 3 lead connector) to the "ACC positive input" wire? it would be easy to use the switched power from the yamaha aux light port for everything, but, it seems that little wire is bad for 20amps and there are numerous people that say not to use it. I really want all the power switched cuz im dumb enough to leave crap on. I'm looking to wire my GPS and some Aux lights (2 x 10 watt cree LED that take 5.6 amps total). evenually maybe a TPMS and an expresso maker.

am i smart enough?

Connect the red and black wires with the spade terminals directly to the +/- posts of the battery then the ACC wire connects to the ignition on wire in the three way connector. The other two in the harness are a ground and an always hot. You don’t want to use that one.

Set up this way the ACC wire will cause the rest of the distribution block (and everything connected to it) to turn off when the ignition is switched off.
