I’d go with ordering a RDL, but they require the customer’s seat pan and I don’t want to be unable to drive my sidehack while I wait for them to build the seat. I guess I should do a search search of this website to see if like you I can by a used one.

Cannot find a used Russell Day-Long for a SuperTen.

A biker compañero has a Saddlemen Adventure Track Solo Seat on his Triumph Explorer so I'll be able to "try it on for size". If it turns out well I'll be using the proceeds from the sale of the EFM Auto Clutch to fund most of the purchase of one for my UberHack.

A Russell Day-Long would probably be better but I'd have to send them the seat for the build.

Turn around is not that bad. They tell you when to ship it in as you get closer to their window set aside for your seat. I just took the pillion seat and turned it around backwards, stuffed a small piece of foam and a magazine under it for a bit more support and rode with that while the seat was being done. Surprisingly, it was pretty comfortable!

Used RDLs don't come up for sale that much since people like them a lot. On rare occasions someone will sell one that came with a used bike or, even rarer, sell one that just doesn't work for them after re-work options have been exhausted. Most of the people that don't care for them prefer to move around the seat more or have a very bony butt, or so it would seem from my recollection.

Good point about a rider having to move around on the seat EricV! On a sidehack rig I usually slide left or right in each corner depending on the direction of the turn. As such, I’m thinking that I should probably steer clear of a RDL because of how the additional width would restrict such movements.

Does anyone here have a SuperTen sidehack with a RDL? If so what have you discovered?

I’ve added a few farkles to make it my own; Heidenhau K37 Front Sidecar Tire, AltRider Pillion Rack, 1.25” Handlebar Raisers, Two Brothers Exhaust, 137db Air Horn, and a BeadRider Deluxe Cushion. I’ve disconnected the Klicktronic Shifter — I just couldn’t get comfortable with it.

I plan to buy an aftermarket comfort solo saddle and would welcome any recommendations. I’m leaning toward a Saddlemen Adventure Tracker.
Mind if I ask what air horn?

Sure thing it is a CUSTOM DYNAMICS Dual Tone Air Horn and it cost $69.95. It has already prevented three different "cabrons" from pulling out in front of me from side streets and parking lots. One "pendejo" looked right at me and still pulled out! In that instance the horn sounded my outrage as I swerved to avoid the side of his POS pickup truck. I succeed or I would probably not telling you about it. "May he soon receive everything he's go coming to him!"

It did stay in the family since I just joined here after purchasing it. It’s my fifth sidehack and far and away the best. Here it is at the bottom of The Black Canyon of the Gunnison last month.
I have zero experience with a sidecar. I've had a Super Tenere since 2016 when I bought the Aniversery addition. In a few years I'm thinking of making the move to a sidecar rig. I love my Super Tenere. You said this was your 5th sidecar rig. How does it handle compared to the others? Pavement twisties, dirt, offroad?
Thanks

In terms of handling I blush to disclose that it is a BEAST compared to the other four sidecar rigs I have owned! That's straight up a result of how big a rig it is. Going thru a single car garage door there is very little room to either side. On the other hand that width makes it the most stable of any rig I've ever owned or test ridden.

Once either an Electric Ural or Honda NeoWing Tilting Reverse Trike is finally released I'll be selling this rig.

Hmmm..It seems that I may be selling my rig sooner than 2022 if this article on a 2021 Honda NeoWing Release is worth the pixels it's displays.

Very cool! Thanks for the info. I'm not ready to switch to a sidecar Yet. But maybe in a couple years so keep me in your thoughts when you get ready to sell. It looks like a nice setup.

I bought this rig from elizilla in 2019. I recently purchased a 2021 Ural GEO LE. So I'm willing to sell this awesome sidehack for $3K LESS than I paid for it in 2019 ($16K) not even counting the cost the farkles I've bestowed upon it. Look back up this thread for pics. First $13K takes it!
