So I am purchasing a MCcruise cruise control for my S10 and Frank has made it abundantly clear that if my bike has aftermarket led brake lights I have to purchase an extra module at the same time as everything else. If the bike has factory LED's then everything is included. The problem I have is that I dont know. I am the 3rd owner of the bike and the rear brake light is clear with red LED's. How do i tell if they are factory or not? the lens has no writing molded in that i can tell but i will look more in the daylight.

Can someone post pics of their factory rear taillight of a 2012 S10 so I can have a frame of reference.

Thank you all,
James

Thank you. That looks just like mine so I can safely assume that my 2012 OEM rear light is LED. Thank you for the pic.
It is appreciated.

The OEM tail light housing is the same for both generations and the only way to tell is to pull the bulb.
My 2012 had non-LED. When I put an aftermarket LED bulb in the ABS light stayed on, probably to indicate the bike thought the tail light was out.

I thought all Super Tens had LED brake/tail lights? I only see one plug on the left side of the taillight housing for the parts diagram and ebay pics.

Are you sure you didn't replace the license plate light bulb with LED and get the ABS light from that? I remember changing every bulb on the bike at one time or another, except the taillight/brake light on my 2012 over the 100k I had it.

You don’t have to pull any bulbs to tell, just look at it when it’s illuminated, there are obvious rows of small LED light sources. If it had incandescent bulbs there would only be one or two bulbs. Like Eric, I think all Super Ténérés, in both gens have LED tail lights.
