They have given you one. It's this...

It just dawned on me what others had posted. The Yamaha spark plug socket is 19mm AF on its outside. This is for undoing the wheel spindle when used in conjunction with the 17mm spanner on the other end.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the factory spark plug socket will do the job.

So this is what I did, and I think most people are referencing:

Grab a ratchet or breaker bar, an extension, and a spark plug socket:

Put the spark plug socket on backwards (provided the extension is longer than the socket):

Then insert the hex end of the spark plug socket into the front wheel axle shaft. Mine could not have fit any better:

Ingenious!!
Best response I've seen yet. I don't carry a rachet with me but this will be my garage solution from now on. Thanks!

Some of the spark plug tools require a little deburring with a file before they fit the axle. BTDT. Also, it's not real fun to try and break the axle loose with the spark plug tool and included 17mm open end wrench. Hard to get enough torque and not pinch off your fingers. ;) The wrench on wrench technique helps.

I had long ago made a 19mm allen socket with a piece of allen wrench and a 19mm socket from the hardware store, (back in the FJR days, something like 280k ago), but also have an actual stepped axle tool in the bike's tool roll. I also carry a nice Mac Tools full size combo wrench for the nut on the rear axle too. Worth the space in the bottom of the pannier!

Plenty of slick and cheap possibilities,The first time changing tires I cut a piece off a crowbar and it fits perfect.

Tried it....because that's what I thought....not even close. The one in mine appeared to be AT LEAST 1mm too wide. But now I have one of those multi-size allen bits; and it fits inside the tool kit just fine. ;D

I looked at all my spark plug sockets, and found several that fit, but none had the square drive accessable reversed like shown in the pictures. All mine are round
Inside the socket, so at a minimum it would take a big drill, or a grinder of some fashion to dig down to the square drive to enable inserting the extension into the socket. Looks like a great idea, but may be hit or miss depending on what socket you have, and what mods you can do. Still best just to buy the correct socket in my own opinion.
