Welcome to The Orange Convert Club! Glad you're enjoying the bike. I believe KTM has done a good job of sorting the SAS so you can ignore the (mostly undocumented) horror stories. My guess is on the redesign in '21 when they lowered the seat height it was at the expense of legroom? You may want to check and see if your footpads are in the low position, they were adjustable on the 15-20s, not sure if they still are. I'm sure with a little fiddling you'll make the bike comfortable.

I'm mildly embarrassed that Uranus Missouri is one of my favorite roadside attractions. Been there a few times. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy silly humor.

Update: Start of 2nd season, 10K+ miles, and a fresh set of tires.

Issues so far:

1) The dreaded coolant leak. I slowly lost a full reservoir's worth over the course of the season. I have detected a slight whiff of coolant on occasion since day one but could never find any leaks. I had the dealer take a look when it was in for the 12 month/9300 mile service, they couldn't find anything either (I don't think they looked very hard). Just recently I noticed a few drips of coolant as it was warming up. Close inspection revealed it coming from the hose attached to the water pump; the internet told me that it's probably just a loose hose clamp. The internet was correct! Of course it takes over an hour to R&R all the plastics and the fuel tank to get at the fucking clamp (which was loose), so while I was in there I tightened every exposed fastener and did some accessory wiring work. Subsequent rides this week confirm success of the repair.

2) Random front brake light switch error. It appears it's a sticky micro-switch, pretty easy to get at so I'll pop it off and clean/lube it. The good thing is that it doesn't affect the CC operation, just the brake light operation. I always use both brakes, and the rear brake light switch is fine, so I'm not too concerned about being rear-ended by a spaced out cager at this point. Stay tuned for update on this........

Other than those 2 minor annoyances, I'm still loving it....this thing is a freaking blast! 100% would recommend if you're considering a move to the Orange Side.

The 1290, shares the same stator as the 950,990,1090,1190...so you should be careful with the consumption of the accessories, DDad burned his, and it seems to be common to burn the stator on the 1290

About as common as ABS modules going bad on the S10. No worries here.
