My main issue of the E-07+ is rear wear rate. This is my 4th Mitas E-07 rear (1st + series) and the others have lasted to 12,000 miles. This + one is going to be lucky if it makes to 6000. At 3000 miles I'm right at 50% of the new tread depth. A Tenere buddy made it to a little over 5000 miles before replacing his + rear. He just found and ordered a new old series Dakar as a replacement for the +. I loved the "old" series Dakar tires. They did great in the rain, snow, dirt, rocks and on the road once they broke in after 3-400 miles. I'm thinking about going with the new Dunlop Missions next time around. By the time I need them, others will have chimed in with their experiences on them as well as the mileage stats.
In my experience, the second half of the depth wears slower as they square off and expose more surface area. The + version does end up with a somewhat sharp edge on some of the knobs as they square off. Again, I got 75% of the mileage compared to originals.

my rear e07+ non dakar (those are made by mitas  ) has about 4500miles on it and might make to 5500 but that will be real bad on my part. I have been happy with it but it only has had about 100 miles of dirt use on My back road home thats dry clay and sand. I did another 100+ miles of mountain gravel roads, rocky roads, some 2 track and a price of single track with no issues this last week. Have not found any tire that even starts to make sense in the mud. I can light up the traction control from a stop on pavement and anytime in the dirt. But it is always very predictable. it's definitely getting buzzy under my butt this week

I'm blown away that people get more then 10,000 miles on a Adventure tire with this heavy bike. i got 8,000 miles out of a k60 (mostly street) and my gps tractionator were bald enough at 6,000 that friend wouldn't ride with me off road until they were changed. (bald in the middle after the CDT trail and some more fall riding)

I ordered a new tire, and went back to the original e07. I have 5400 miles on the eo7+. I’m going to ride it a bit more, as an off pavement tire it’s done. 427F51D8-5DFF-4D3C-922E-38AD862C919F.jpeg

Where are you finding the best prices and availability lately? 5,600 on mine. I love the performance and predictability on the +, but also love the mileage on the original. Need to decide soon if I'm going to make it to the rally.

I've run 2 EO7+ dakars and one non dakar rears. I still think they are the best rear tire But I have gone back to the original EO7 Dakar for the rear of my 2012. I just ride it to much to only get 10,000 miles out of a rear tire. The original rear EO7 last and last, but as soon as I switched back I noticed that the originals are quite a bit slicker on pavement. They slide a lot easier when braking (my 12 doesn't have ABS) I will probably stick with the EO7 + on the 2017 because that is the bike my wife rides on with me.

That works better. Funny, they show the + as 60 street, 40 dirt, and the original as 50/50. Looks like price is the same for either.

I used Amazon last time, and looks like they may still be cheaper.

I still can't believe the mileage you get! If I could get 10k on the +, my debate would be over. I'm lucky to get that on the original rear.

I used to get the Mitas tires from Rocky Mtn ATV. Then availability became a problem and I'd receive tires that were almost 2 years old. I really like the service from Motorace and the tires I've received from them have all been months old, not years. I'd be curious to know the build date / DOT # on tires purchased thru Amazon...

I ordered the last ones through Amazon. They were sold and shipped through twisted throttle. They were just a bit cheaper on Amazon. ?

I’m sure I could get another 1000 + miles out of this tire. I’m kind of impressed with how many miles it has gone. I was thinking it was 3000 miles until I looked at my log. About 50/50 on/off pavement.

Last one from Amazon was about 6mo old. Amazon's return policy is great. Can't remember if the older one I got was through Twisted Throttle or RMATV.

Ohhhhh, I didn't think about Amazon's return policy. I made a mistake on the last set I bought from Motorace in April for my trip to Arizona, I fat fingered the order form and bought an 18" rear. What a big dummie!!!! Anyway, they'd credit me for it if I sent it back which would cost me 30 something bucks. So I took 30 bucks off the price and sold it to a local buddy for his KTM. And I ordered the correct size tire next time!!! LOL

19,400 on front E07 Dakar

7,450 on rear E07+ Dakar. The thing is, once they get close to the wear bars, there is so much surface area, they wear much slower.

New E07+Dakars F&R should be arriving anytime now. I really like heading to AZ with fresh tires in January, but the timing didn't work out. I sent the Shinkos I tried back. They should have gotten me through the fall.
