Leaving the T12 community but not the Yamaha world

After 11 years and 170,000 km (100,000+ miles) on two generations of T12, I'm down sizing. I'm finding myself more and more attracted to gravel roads and with my local Yama dealer giving me a heck of a trade on my current T12, time to act. Despite the T12 being an absolutely perfect bike (no...

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

Finally some dry roads! A few degrees below freezing but sunny! Time to wake the T12 up for a spin. View from my kitchen window. Always nice to see the sign for my small village Solberga (Sunny hill). Next day, rain and sleet again. Glad I found the time.

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Nothing too exiting, just the mandatory every two years state inspection. Flying colors of course (?), it's a Yamaha. Dreary weather, no other bikes in sight.

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

Fleeing boring weather in Sweden for a week of curves, scraping pegs and great food in the Dolomites. Ta safe guard against snow and other unpleasantness in Scandinavia, we decided to trailer the bikes to Italy. Ooops, Polish trucker decided to back into our transport! Luckily, just some...

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

I'm cheating! The XT12 is still drying out from all the rain in Norway. Hence, X-ADV to the rescue. Rural Sweden in early fall can be just as picturesque.

What's your "MECCA" on your bucket list?

Thanks for you kind words. The fender extender is just something I bought from Louis.eu and no mods to either that or the bike. No issues on the XT660Z or my XT1200 in regards to clearance.

What's your "MECCA" on your bucket list?

I was fortunate enough to complete my "Mecca" trip in 2019 together with my favorite riding buddy (my son Filip). Sweden to the Yamaha factory and museum in Japan. Basic travel plan: Crisscrossing Europe down to Greece. Turn left. Ride through Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan...

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Thanks for asking. The mirrors are some no name double folded units. Easy to fold inwards when needed while still give a vibration free view when used as intended. All good.
